lol I guess they didn't think promoting 28 SGT would matter. Hopefully they put a class in in May after the new recruits graduate. I would assume there will be little to no promos during the summer going forward I really hope they push promos during the fall

I can't see them putting Sgts so soon after such a huge promotion. They just got 2xx sgts and now you think the nypd will go back to city hall and be like yeaaaaaaa we need more now. I hope Adam's uses his car salesman game to get this through.

Adams and the mayors office are the ones delaying this. The Job wanted 160 the list was finalized and cleared and he said no this is all coming from his office. The job is still down 300 bosses and probably more to follow on terminal they want and need SGTs they had cleared the next 300 names on the list 2 weeks ago in preparation for this class. Its unfortunate this happened but things change month to month and Adams can always approve another class next month or month after just have to wait and see.

It is a culmination of Adam's office, deployment allocation and resources, the council seeing what the plan is along with his public safety czar who is overseeing all of this.

Also, they do NOT go past X umos to clear them. It is not typical ever that they just forecast down the list so far ahead for clearance.

For what its worth, there is a recruit class graduating possibly April 11th. Should be about 600-700 recruits.

I get it. Ppl are saying no classes til September but I refuse to believe that. Even in the height of the CoVid epidemic they did not go that long without promotions. It doesnt make sense.

Hopefully someone can provide some insight of any other chatter

In the last week I know of 5 sgts that have retired and one of them went to another dept. Attrition continues to surge so lets see how long they want to play this freeze game.

I would think they wouldn't do that but Adams administration is new and that usually means putting their stamp on things so who knows

They just took over 200 sgts. Bound to have a few down months. Simple Next promotion wont be for a while from what im hearing. Sucks

they are not going to extend it again. Just my honest opinion. There is no legitimate reason to cause an extend. With that being said. I still believe youll all get made.

There are about 450 names left on this list. List is valid until end of Jan 2023. Im sure in the next 10 months they can clear 450 names.

Vette alil dramatic. Its happened numerous lists w lieutenant exam. I know a guy who was next to be promoted on a killed lt list. Never did the jst or run which cost then the promotion. Retired as a sgt. It happens and it sucks but hardly mayhem lol

I have no reason to think it will not. Even September promo could be 2 large classes. In essence theres no reason not to complete the list

Just sharing something I heard today, obviously to be taken with a grain of salt. Was told no promotions till July after the fiscal year. I know no one has solid information at this point, but July is better than September.

In short it said all out is rank up to and including captain. Impact is back prioritizing transit. And no transfers until further notice.

No. Youre right. Not trying to troll or cause a stir. I wouldn't mention it solely on receiving the text but only shared it because it somewhat coincided with news that someone mentioned weeks ago about everything on pause until September. Im not going to mention those text anymore as the tribe has spokethey are usually completely false.

Although I doubt thats true I have very much been getting impact vibes recently in my command. They have chiefs doing transit patrols. I doubt this is outside of the realm of possibility. This job is very much going in a weird direction. Weve dealt with years of anti police rhetoric and cops getting crucified and suddenly a switch is flipped and now were expected to proactively police under immense scrutiny. Its somewhat concerning for our members. I think this summer will be very telling on whats expected from this regime.

My source told me couple days ago that she had heard promos for the end of the month but nothing else yet no number or other info, when I get anything more Ill let you guys know. Also looks like the upcoming SGT Exam NOE says that Date is to be determined So I believe that test is getting pushed back which is good for everyone on this list because if it is pushed back that means another list will take longer to get made and gives everyone on here more time to get promoted.
