Im hearing from my source that the number for 4/29 should be 175-200 the Job wants 200 but I dont know if the city will authorize it. Apparently Adams has changed his mind on no promos till September there will be a class this month and another one planned for July after the next recruit class. Obviously everything is subject to change but for right now there will be promos this month and more to follow. If I hear anything else or if anything changes I will let you guys know. I also think the test being pushed back may have contributed to this but thats just my opinion.

Its very simple. Finest will drop Friday evening for 4/27 class & Monday evening for a 4/29 class. The number is closer to 175.

So my source in 1 pp, head of the broom closet unit, heard the CO of pencil sharpening unit said they getting at least 2 sgt straight from BMOC. Supposedly they are in the backlog of sharpening pencils and getting hammered at COMPSTAT.

i dont have to explain who my source is. The confidence in my source is such based on what unit theyre in & their involvement with promotions. Im more invested than others because Im actually in the next class. I cant change or control what happens between the time I was told & now. i dont need to bullshit anything

I have a feeling that promotions will be held off till after the summer. Adams probably doesnt want to take cops off the street. I think it would be wise to expect it as such in terms of planning anything in your personal life/career.

Like I said two days ago, promotions for SGTs will possibly happen in May but are cancelled for April. Straight from the people who really know unlike others who are here guaranteeing dates. Adams is a real piece of work who constantly changes his mind. Its out of our hands right now, maybe tomorrow he will wake up on the right side of the bed. All he cares about is having cops on the streets, so having 175 people in BMOC does not fit the agenda right now

Some of us dont have the luxury of sitting around and getting away with it. The pressure from this regime is very much being felt by my command.

Unfortunately my source who was very confident about promos is telling me the same thing everyone else is saying today that promos for SGT/LT cancelled for this month. Its unfortunate but Adams and City Hall have the final say and it just seems like he does not want them to happen until he says so. Does this mean no promos till September like I and several others originally heard
Noone can answer that especially with coming retirements its just a different regime and with that there is always uncertainty My advice to all those on the list is study for the upcoming test until your Finest message comes down because nothing is a guarantee. Im Just trying to stay optimistic and hope this passes and I honestly think it will maybe there will be promos next month or maybe not. It could honestly be that he wants to install his own people through discretionary promo before starting other promos we will just have to see.

Lol look I'm not looking for any credit just passing along what info I get and I keep mentioning any old info for anyone who is new to this thread and I have put out plenty of info that I have also been wrong about and I make sure to mention that daily as well. No one really knows anything 100% But attacking me and anyone else trying to help with info isn't going to get you promoted any quicker.

Hearing from a good source that the job will be revisiting promotion talk in early May. Take it for what its worth. They need supervision and they cant keep cancelling classes much longer!

Every month they cancel just makes attrition worse. Eventually they will need to put a huge class if not do two big back to back promos for the next few months. Whether they want to or not they will need to promote at some point or we will be doing our own evals eventually.

With the upcoming warmer months, and crime continuing to spike throughout I cant imagine this guy changing course if his reasoning is to keep more cops on the street. It would defy his logic to promote in these up coming months. Then again anything this department does typically lacks logic. Any news is good news, but as for the dates thrown around in this thread I remain highly skeptical.
