I would assume not since they aren't cleared. With that said if they are clearing a 100 I would assume they are clearing past 489 because of pass overs between 389 and 489, but im sure some of the pass overs may get cleared also. Plus there's also 3 that are already promoted between those numbers

Yes a legitimate hiring freeze would be bad news. Iirc, there was a hiring freeze in 2008 and there were 0 promotions for about six months.

Give or take a year or so, yes it was. But i honestly dont see it getting that bad for a few reasons 1. 2008 etc was a worldwide financial collapse so it was much more serious. 2. The department is already struggling with retention and hiring right now. The job cant afford to go a prolonged period of time with no hirings.

They didnt Kill an Lt list. They actually overpromoted from the 2003 list which delayed the 2006 list from coming out until mid-late 2008.

The only promotion list killed this century was the 2003 Sgt, last test before they went to the 70 to pass rule. They reached raw score of approximately 58 and then put out the 2006 list.

since the 70 went into effect there have been zero lists cut.

100 percent wrong!!! 2006 lt list was cut. I knew the guy who was up next to be promoted before it was cut. If you dont believe me go to the 2006 lt forum on page and see where the list was cut

Time expired on that one, it wasnt just cut by the Dept.

Expired cut. Its a play on words. Obviously if theres two years remaining on a list the chance a list will be killed is virtually zero. Either way a list expired and ppl died on 2006 lt list. That would be my fear for any list now unless a claim to extend like 2020 occurs. Job/Dcas doesnt have to go that route however

in the beginning i really thought there was a chance they go through the whole list. now i am not so sure.

also, replying to the class being cut in January, so there was no promotions for 6 months in 2008 for Sergeants? I didnt know that. And also didnt they not hire cops for like almost a year when that happened? I just feel like its apples and oranges. One class isnt 4 classes

I wouldnt bet on this being one class. This is part of FIRST 5 percent cut. Theres potential for two MORE cuts. Unfortunately going to be a waiting game.

Budget cuts are taking effect for NEXT year hence why new recruit January 2024 class along with others for foreseeable future are canceled. Also keep in mind Adams is playing politics with Washington.
The Articles and press releases all say cuts will be necessary IF funding isnt received from the federal government

Also this isnt breaking news. This came out Tuesday. If there was really a thought Sgt promo would be canceled this month, I think Lionel & others on this forum wouldve known by now. If anything they changed from 25-40-75 and now 85 is the last rumored number.

Ceremonial has been notified for a promotion next week 11/21. Like always things are subject to change but its a good sign

We should be good for another class or 2 this year and well see what next brings.

Lets try to stay positive

Spot on. This is only a proposal, not set in stone. City is trying to get more money to help deal with the financial crisis and congress will have talks in the upcoming weeks about funding the migrant crisis. Dont believe everything said in media and keep a positive mind.

Ceremonial has been notified for 11/21 (tuesday) @ 1PP
As always, they get notified pretty early in advance and things are subject to change

Lionel posted a few days ago numbers were 75-85 and Dr Papi said the same in Cpt forum

That would mean finest should drop today. Last month on Friday it was around 13:50 and I looked at years past its been in that ballpark or later.

Lets hope and be positive. Anyone with anything concrete please keep us all updated!
