DCAS did something called Eligible Certified when you called and it would say what list number it was up to I thought they were the same thing.

Im thinking Tuesday finest. And promotions on the 25th. They never give you a full week notice. It will be just enough time for a last min chart change and a day for LTs to take a ID pic.

Well today I heard a bad rumor from a source and shes usually on point most of the time but she heard it from someone in her office so its second hand rumors so IDK if its confirmed so take it with a grain of salt. But she said that she heard Promos are either happening or may be postponed for a while maybe until Aug/Sep because of some directive from the Mayors office. I hope its BS

If anyone can confirm or tell me its nonsense please do Lol I do not want to wait another 5 months for BMOC.

I can confirm from my source as of right now promos are not cancelled and still on track for March 25. Of course we all know how this can change from one day to another.

Spoke with a few of my Sergeant friends who have gone to interviews for units. Apparently a lot of units are understaffed in the sgt rank and are in desperate need for bodies. I know this doesnt say much about the next class but as we can see Patrol continues to be short sgts and a lot of units in the dept are super short.

I dont have anymore than whats posted above but I asked my CO today and he said he heard there is definitely a class going in this month. That could be bullshit but Intel in previous post say its pending sign off. It could be signed off already. It could be signed off Monday and come down Tuesday/Wednesday. Its cutting it close but its possible.

The reason these threads are not on fire I believe is because the ppl that had lots of info have all gotten promoted already so technically they have no reason to continue checking lol. Honest truth. But I spoke to someone from the academy and there is deft a class next week

I think your right there will be a class but it probably wont come down till Mon-Tues. The regulars on this forum are probably busy as new SGTs but hopefully those more in the know can jump in and share when they hear something. Im not too concerned with this class but Anyone who is over 2400 may have to wait till after Summer for promos to start up again. If anyone heard the same rumor and can confirm please do.

Not exactly sure its supposedly a directive from the Mayors office. If i had to guess probably a Manpower/All-Out thing which would make sense probably easier to promote another 450+ cops after the next recruit class graduates and with another class in after that. If i get more info Ill let you guys know

Ive spoke to many people on these forums / delegates and its a mix bag if Ill go to step 5 salary. I might have to tell housing4life to put my name in red.

I just recently saw a sgt paystub and I didnt like their shift differential is separate from their base pay. I wonder if I stay a detective past April 1 and obtain the differential, do I lose it when I get promoted to sgt.

If I lose it, Ill obtain step 4 as a sgt which is $500 raise. But then lose my $2,250 differential. So Ill actually make $1750 less as a sgt? Its crazy stupid.

it's no secret that going from det to sgt is a pay cut... most PO will take a pay cut

Take the promo. Noone can ever take away any rank you earned on this job when you retire. Detective is always better than PO and Sgt on top of being a Det is always better than retiring as only a Det. Get it?

Youre 100% right, the pension is the end game. In 5 years, Ill hit step 5 and 20 year longevity at the same time. Been a 3rd grader for 9 years. The grade game is cut throat.

There are so many variables, Tier 2 / Tier 3, OT, ITHP, 50/50. I saw an SDS, 25 years get 10k per month.

scuba if you're in a #'ed squad good luck with getting grade unless you have 20+ years on (and sometimes that doesn't even matter)... better off in GVSD or even SMART unit at this point. grade is roiling the dice, passing a test and getting promoted is guaranteed... and liked others said - retirement pension is the end game

Ok so realistically if the request for XXX number of cops to be promoted to SGT is at city hall or 1pp and has yet to be signed off onis it even possibly to think that the paperwork can receive its final approval and then actually have the finest drafted and sent out Tuesday night?

Have final approval of promotion request ever been held up like this and implemented immediately? If not whats the typical timeframe from final signature to the FINEST drop? Is this every class and I just didnt realize ?
