No rumors yet, but considering the mentoring that went in today will start BMOC on March 2 and be promoted probably at the March 27 promotion, going on recent class history, the next mentoring will start in about 4-5 weeks.

The amount of people retiring, and patrol vacancies will let us know what the next class size will be. Not to mention the end of fiscal year nonsense.

I predict a 1450-1500 year ending on low end. Judging on LT classes and Sgt retirements alone. Dont worry guys. All will be well.

If they finish with 1500 this year most likely they will get through the whole list or at least to 2500. Because people left for MTA some people get passed over

Not yet. Based on history emails will probably go out into about two weeks for an end of march mentoring.

Well Jan and feb were back to back, so I was hoping they would do the same for March

Full disclosure because I dont want to get killed on this forum - this is based on no rumor or anything- but based on the strangle hold on operational overtime and small classes when there was no reasonable explanation for such small classes - we are coming to the last months of the fiscal year. And it kills me to say this, because I am also waiting for that mentoring email, I wouldnt be surprised if they skip the next expected mentoring group for a month.

Not terrible logic but I doubt it. March is a very long month and the current mentoring is done after next week. I just dont see them waiting more than 6 weeks to start another one. I think a mentoring will start in March even if its the 30th lol.

If they hit 1500 this year then you think they will promote 1100 people the final year in 2022? You are a very positive person.

Talk about FY2021 stuff is just nonsense. Unless they drastically cut head count, which they WONT due to bail reform, the FY2021 has ZERO IMPACT on any promotions. Speculations yes, reality, no. They cant promote what isnt there. If there are no vacancies, then they cant make up more Sgts. The only thing is a March/April retirement number as well as LT list promotions, which are moving steady for a 200/yr average.

Everyone gets caught up on class size. It is totally irrelevant. They will promote 450-500 sgts...like they have done every year, for God knows how long.

That is a fact. Just because they arent throwing in 80 people at a clip does not mean they wont hit mid 400s by end of the year. I am firmly believing that the list will hit 1500ish by end of the year.

I would guess based on the scheduled promotion - maybe next Friday. Not this week. But that would be a nice surprise!

Why not a later start in March for mentoring?

Im not gonna count that Out. But I dont think it would then be for an April BMOC. if emails go out friday (3/6) then mentoring wouldnt start till the earliest 3/16. That would give you only 2 weeks mentoring before a BMOC start of 3/30. That gives you four weeks till the 4/27 promotion

someone double check my dates and math please.

Im having trouble understanding the math also. So if bmoc started on 3/2, is this bmoc 8 weeks with a April 24 promotion? Is it 4 weeks with a portion on March 27? Or wouldnt the date for 6 weeks land in the middle? It makes me believe that the promotion schedule posted somewhere in the forum must be inaccurate. Also; then when would the next mentoring start? Confusing indeed...

The next class will reflect the 925tax class that retired in February. The last class didnt because the mentoring started in February the same time people were putting their papers in

85 people in an April Mentoring for a May BMOC just keeps in step with the 40ish people a month they are putting in right now

Ok yes that all makes more sense and glad to know Im not losing my mind. So with that said- the promotion after that is scheduled for May 29. This would that mean a six week bmoc for that promotion would commence on 4/20 and the mentoring on 4/6. Emails 2 Fridays before that would be 3/20. So lets see what happens in a week and a half I guess. Maybe an idea of a timeline. Thoughts?
