At this rate, they can get a few more classes in by the end of the year and finish out strong. What is everyone's guess to where they will finish on the list?
That third class of 80 that would graduate at the end of October would put the list in the neighborhood of 870-880. Depending on what they do in November / December, 1000 is very possible. Vacancies / terminals were at 312... plus some more Guys getting promoted to LT, plus some more guys retiring before years end... yea its doable
Well thats 312. Minus the 80 graduating is at 232. Minus the 80 who will enter and ultimately finish bmoc in several weeks will bring it to around 150 vacancies. In the last 2 weeks about 15 Sgts and Lts retired, combined. Between now and then we can have around 270-290 vacancies if we do combined vacancies of sgts and lts leaving. If the pace is at norm. My prediction. This also will make a greater vacancy with a LT class going in. Id say even by end of the year we will still have around 150-175 vacancies to start fresh for 2020.

So Im going to say the same thing that you are but attack it from another angle. Your going chronological. Im gonna go just addition / subtraction. As of 8/2 vancancies + terminals were 312. Add the Sgts making LT at the end of the month. Figure one more LTs class of 30 before years end. Now your looking at like 370ish. Plus all the retirements between now and the end of the year.. thats 5 months of retirements since last update. Minus 80 in bmoc and another 80 in mentoring. Yea it looks pretty good. Also a Big class hits 20 years in February 2020
I cant believe Im saying this.... considering the Debbie downer I was this time last year... but yea with 2 months to go once the October class graduates, and where vacancies will be... 1,000 is possible.
I just heard a rumor that Sept mentoring will begin on the 16th. This is second hand info, said to be from a reliable source. Has anyone heard different??

I am wondering if they putting in three (3) more class of mentoring before the end of the year? That would put the list well over a 1,000 especially if they are 80 a pop

If they put 80+ in for those 3 extra classes, it would bring the total for this year at approximately 1,113. That's if they put mentoring in for Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec. I guess we shall all see.

A mentoring class in December should not count towards the totals for this year as they wont be in BMOC till January
Time will tell whether the job makes a push to try and promote nearly everyone from the list, or will they cruise along and start putting in classes of 50 again next year.

I think personally it should as the exam expires toward end of January.

Exam would expire beginning of January. The first class started BMOC at the beginning of Jan 2018
