That's always a good thing! Keep em coming! Lets see if we can get to 66 by the end of the year

It would be great if they get to 75. November sounds like a pretty fast past considering the large amount in the first class.

That is from personnel. Its what is EXPECTED. If you know promos expected means nothing. I post it just bc I know guys like something to look forward to and plan about but again promos are never set until weeks if not days prior.

Two precursors for promos are auditorium being booked for promos which 1pp personnel can find out about. Two leadership needs to get a class together. Those two things usually indicate class/promo happening

I think 66 or 75 would be unrealistic. One more class before the end of the year and were lucky to be at 50.

As long as they keep putting classes in we are golden. Hopefully there are more retirements so that some young bloods with fresh ideas can take the reigns...Time will tell though

I coukd see 30 more promotions by the end of the year if those Terminal numbers turn into vacancies. Then its going to slow down to like 15 a quarter.....

Can anyone in the current class advise what you guys are doing besides going to stats with a CO/XO? Just trying to get an idea of what the "training" entails...TIA

Generally, the day consists of listening to 4 or 5 speakers from different units sharing things that are relevant to the rank. Today, we had IAB, TRI report, a pct CO sharing ideas and how to prepare for Stat meetings. We also had inspections sharing a mock scenario of escaped hospitalized prisoner and followed that up with mock GO 15. The academy does a great job of informing you what your week consists of. This wasn't the case during LT bmoc. Now, by friday we get an email with next week's schedule/agenda.

The two weeks of mentoring would have been far superior though.....hard to beat hands on learning with an experienced executive. Hopefully the rumors of 10 to 12 guys going into mentoring in October turns out to be true.

I've never felt prepared for any rank. There are a lot of important things people never care to mention about the rank. I'm not sure if people think some stuff aren't important, or they just don't know how to communicate, or flat out don't care. They had the latest Capt Bmock class at a TRI stat meeting to show them what to expect, but in no way did it reflect what truly goes on behind the scene. A full bird had to answer questions on why sergeants and lieutenants weren't reviewing body cams. The computer basically keeps a record when videos were reviewed and it was embarrassing to say no one reviewed camera footages. I'll make a bet that people went back to their commands, signed out and went home. Why? Because they spent the last week preparing for a 30 minute presentstion and was so wiped out that they didn't have 5 minutes to share their take aways. These meetings feels like craming for a promotional exam each time they announce your up to present. All and all, it's worth it i guess.

Thats great news! We just need the classes to be consistent even if they're small in size.

the info I got is that there is a big shake up coming  next month so captains vacancies will double due to retirement

this decision was made at the last min on Monday that why we didn't got notification Monday

and this added class does not affect the end of October promoted for captains is just an addition  and thats a good thing

So there is another Captain class/promotion slotted for end of October? If so, do you know how many?

Captains and above on terminal count as vacancies if I'm not mistaken. Lieutenants and Sergeants on terminal do not count as vacancies until they are actually retired.
