No idea. I dont think the rumor is accurate. If they only cleared to 64 then that would indicate a smaller class.

Maybe they only cleared up to 64 because they are promoting a bunch of the passovers

The job always clears a little beyond what they are planning to promote to allow for people declining/deferring promotion, last minute jam ups, lack of credits, etc. they always keep the ball in their court. Next promo will not reach #64.

I can't see the next class being that big considering they're over by 8 Captains with the last promotion. Any insiders that know what direction the job is going in? The Lt's list is already off to a great start for those getting promoted, but the vacany numbers for their list makes sense.

well, look at what happened around july of 2017 when they finished off the 2014 captains list... they promoted way over vacancy available that they did not have any promo until the first class of this current test. so it may / may not happen..

Thats good news for sure. Doesnt mean theyll promote that many but one can always hope...forward momentum of the list is needed so that the other lists can do the same.

Take #5 off the list?! Are you kidding me? This isnt north korea! Shame on you 25isthenew20! As americans we dont believe in censorship or striking heroes from historical record!

I see that some of the 100 haters are still hating! If it wasnt for #5 and the rest of the 9 heroes many of you would not be on this capt list! Many of you would not have been given a fair Captain exam! As well as a fair Lt & Sgt exam! Countless current supervisors and future leaders on the job were finally given a fair exam!

Everything seems to be so last minute. The job hasn't been able to give the 3 weeks of mentoring for the new captains. Does anyone think they'll change it.

Nothing has been said about the next class. Training is the same as the LTs and Sgts classes in addition to Duty Capts and XOs coming in as guest speakers, DCPI media lecture for execs, and public speaking. They also make you go to compstat/dv/nco/ traffic stat if there's one scheduled during your time at the academy. Its 4 weeks long

Thanks for the update. Things have really slowed down. Not as much talk on the line. I'm hearing 2-3 months for the next class. I know it's speculations, but that's all there is sometimes.
