The same people who are bLtching about having to do the mentoring program (and possibly standing a foot post) are probably the same people who complained about every new boss who was clueless because they came from an admin spot.
I'm sorry you feel like you're too good for a foot post, but the admin guys need to get out behind their desk and into a precinct before they're promoted. Collateral damage. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
Most of us arent in admin spots and on patrol already if you read through the post. And standing On a foot post doesnt teach you a damn thing about anything thats the point of us bitching
From my understanding the mentoring program only transferred POs in admin positions outside of TB, PSA, Patrol. Those within any of those three just stay in their command
Lets say youre a Detective in the COP office. And you get transferred out for the mentoring program. Could you technically get promoted and go right to COP office since its not your last command?
A guy i know who did it last year said weekends but who the hell knows what its going to be i also was told by someone they were put in squads.... so its a mix up and i dont think anyone knows for sure
Either uour boro had not forward the email to your command, or your admin LT doesnt check his Email. The people on that list have until Friday to sent back their email from the Dept. email with their top 3 commands where they want to go from the commands available. and it states transfers will come down on June 14.
So what's the final word on this mentoring program? Are guys getting temporarily transfered? How many people are going into the next bmoc and when is the next bmoc?
Guys, you can find answers to most of your questions by just skimming through the thread.
The next 50 people (minus passovers) on list are going to BMOC sometime this month.
The job generally doesnt do classes in the summer, so next BMOC would be September but as always the job can do a class when they need to.
As far as this mentoring program, list #180-355 (minus the 50 going to BMOC) are temporarily being assigned on June 14th. Top 3 command choices are due by today at 1600.
As far as new names, my friend, who is not between 180-355, was called yesterday and told they were doing the program and to submit command choices. I cant speak to anyone else or how many more were added.

An educated guess is that if they are calling additional people passed the established mentoring list, that they plan on promoting those people sooner than later. Which is a good thing.
Are no classes going in the summer something you heard or just your opinion?
Ive heard from two different people in separate units st 1PP that the list is being pushed through and the only down months planned for this year going forward are october and November

That's excellent news!!
Stop giving false info or should I say hope. This list all will not get push thorough and you shall see it when that time comes.
yea this year will be different cuz of the fact that a lot of commands do need Sgts and Lt list being out and getting underway there will be bigger push to fill those gaps I agree.
I'm being told that apparently there's supposed to be a 3 day training at the police academy for this whole mentioning thing before actually going to these cmds. Any of you guys heard the same thing??
Did anyone hear if they are taking an additional 100 people to that mentoring program?
it dosent look that way. if they are sending at least 50 to bmoc this month, that list should be changing. basically it should be the next 50 on line. hopefully they readjust the list for that purpose. they did say that the list was tentative.

Anyone going to mentoring heard anything officially besides the original 49? As far as I know, nothing has come down as to where people are going, when/where to report, whether there is academy training first, etc. Anyone have any further info?
