With the return of the dream sheets and there being 48 new sgts with 76 vacancies.. Do you think they try to accomodate their picks.... Obviously not everyone gets their first or second pick but maybe third??? By the way the instructors DID say that now if it turns out you get sent to command that totally doesnt work for you ... You put in for a transfer and you have priority over the next BMOC class
I can be wrong but i think the dream sheets are for commands that need people. I believe they tell you up front what commands they are looking to fill and you basically choose from there. But again i'm not 100% on that

Chunk,
thats correct. I put in a 57 after being in a place I hated and was amazingly gone in 9 weeks. Key factors:
1) get off probation. Unless you got a hook, I can't a co signing a 57 when you're still on probation.
2) do your job well enough...
cuz
3) CO has to sign it. Many don't sign it REGARDLESS. so be competent and be a good boy...it'll increase your chances of him signing it
4) if he signs it, HAND DELIVER IT TO PERSONNEL AT 1 PP!!! NO MAILING IT IN!!
With that many vacancies and only 48 of us in this class we should all get some kind of decent command. My understanding is that the dream sheet has commands that are short SGTs
75% of the time are guest speakers... One instructor said " We're expecting ... o wait
I'm not gonna say for all you rising star folks" and changed the topic
I agree, it's nowhere near the same amount of traffic as the old 2011 Sgt's test. Although I do get that this list is half that size.
I think the two year hiatus before the start of hiring hasn't helped either. The 2011 test was given in October 2011 and they were promoting from it May 2012. It's also a weird time of the month. A new class just went in. There's not much to speculate on for the next few weeks. i did find it odd however that there was very little chatter on what commands those new sergeants from the first class of our list went.
It may sound stupid and clueless like question but how, where, and when do we know what VAC & TL mean?!?!? I just go into this column every so often to read updates on future classes etc. but don't truly know what those numbers mean, stand for, and where they come from.....apologizing for the ignorance but it's a sincere inquiry
