those of us at the top of this list need a small 2015 Lt test list... According to Yanosik ... If its as small as rumored... There quite possibly will be a fall 2016 test... It all depends on how many throwouts they will have... Fingers crossed
Is it possible to sign up for LT exam if you are not currently rank of sgt, but will be the time the test will take place? Do not remember how far in advance we had to officially sign up for sgt test.

Anyone can sign up for ANY exam. However, if you are not in the eligible rank on the date of the exam, you will not be allowed to sit for it and you will lose your filing fee.

Actually, DCAS won't even allow you to register until you are promoted now. Let's say you make SGT make a month before the test. A DCAS rep during BMOC will come in and allow you to register.

Not true.... while I was deployed overseas I registered for the Capt Exam as a SGT. DCAS then sent me a letter during the same time frame that they mailed out admissions slips to say that I was not in the eligible rank of LT to take the exam. If you register online, which is what I did, they dont ask you for your rank. They take your money and process your application. If you are not a LT, you cant take the test!!

That makes no sense..... If that was the case the instructors would still be taking the test. Guys, 100 percent during your BMOC they will arrange for you to take the test if you get made after the filing date.

SMH....How does that not make sense? The instructors CANT take the test because they are not in the RANK previous to the test. If there was an instructor that was a SGT then he could take the LT exam!!! You have to be a LT to take the CAPT exam....etc.... You can FILE for the test and DCAS will take your money. But DCAS will not send you an ADMISSION SLIP unless you are the correct rank for those eligible for the test. Once DCAS gets all of the names of the people that FILE for the test, they check to see what their CURRENT RANK is. If they are not in the CURRENT rank eligible, they send you a letter stating that you are not allowed to take the exam because you do not hold the eligible rank. That's pretty simple to me!!
Ok, I'm going back to my Lt thread after this.... The question was related to taking the LT test when making Sgt closely before the LT test would be administered. What you are saying in your last post is correct. But how does that solve the problem once you receive that letter from DCAS? The answer is that while in BMOC a rep will allow to reregister. It's as simple as that... maybe different for you military guys.
I know quite a few guys & gals that were promoted in Nov 2006 to Sgt that were never given the opportunity to take the 2006 Lieutenant test which was administered two weeks while they were in BMOC. Guess things have changed.

Probably because they were not sgts yet. You said test was administered while they were in bmocc.
