I'm actually staying in the 20th street building until the end of the year until we get rid of the recruits.......I don't work for the BMOC Unit.........and the move will have no bearing on movement.......it all goes according to vacancies.........ok, now, I'm off to Vegas for the week.......you may not hear from me much, nor will I be hearing much news.......hang in there

How come every newly promoted sgt says it sucks.I was all excited to check out of my command now I'm not sure.So what sucks about it?

Queens... A lot of cops take the sgt exam because they think they will have less responsibility by delegating tasks. Along with the fact that they figure no more summonses and no more collars! Then reality sets in real fast and they realize that being a sgt has way more responsibility then being a cop. Not only do the higher ups yell at you... Your own do nothing problematic cops also hate you and do nothing to help you out. They then start to see why their Sgt always yelled at them.

The only happy bosses are the ones that were active and are used to responsibility and have a squad of self sufficient officers with common sense. The rest hate it as soon as they realize they made more money as a cop and have more responsibility.

I have almost 2 years as a Sgt now and absolutely love it. Maybe it's my command or my squad, I don't know. I had to straighten out one or two zeros but other than that, I take care of my workers, make OT, and love it. Went from being a worker as a cop in a busy house to being a Sgt in a busy house and it has been really good so far. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

We have people on this job that complain no matter what their rank, command, tour & anything else you could think of. You have to take the complaints with a grain of salt.

If you're a worker like boogie down then you make the best of the job and enjoy yourself.

It really boils down to who you are.

They are making 26-28 LTs and there are 25ish sgts on terminal. I would say theres gonna be a October BMOC, but thats just my opinion based on the numbers

Um they are pulling from the 2013 captains list. This will be the first class from that list and there are 63 names total on that list.

Just so you guys don't think i am some hair-bag who showed up out of nowhere with my measly (2) posts lol, I used to comment on this site back in 2009. Unfortunately after scoring in the top 5%, I was killed on the 2009 Sgt list. I deleted my account after that. Guess it was my way of 'moving on' so to speak. The man upstairs must have been looking out for me, because i passed the 2011 Sgt exam. I am not too far away from my list number at this point. I have recently been watching various posts about the list, so I figured it would be right to help everyone out with some credible info. Hopefully all of those passovers make it as well, because i know the feeling. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy on this job lol. Anyway good luck to you all. So again, (as of now), its 56 cops going into BMOC on Oct 6th.

I remember the rumors from when I posted at the inception of this forum for the 2011 exam. I was repeatedly disproving people on the forum time and time again. I can't predict the future but I have friends who work in DCMB and I know how this works. There is no reason to cut the list in favor of a new list. That doesn't make sense. Lists get cut after 4 years of being active..

Everything. Every little idea from painting a room to hiring recruits to buying helicopters goes through dcmb for a cost analysis. This job won't do things it can't pay for. With that said if they decide to approve the 1000 additional hires for the class in January then you can be sure that this list will pick up the pace from January to July reason being is that sgts get hired in proportion to cops. The decision to hire 1000 cops has already factored the need for additional sgts.

This is what I know. So good luck to all. I hope they finish this lists as fast as possible for all of you. And btw.... As always I have heard nothing about cutting the list.

Not too sure about the Passovers going into the Oct BMOC. I did speak to someone I know personally, they said that they are looking to crank this list out. I'm taking the chance and studying for LT. I would advise all to di the same.

Me too, Im taking Elite, its a $900 risk, but i'l all in right now. If this 56 goes in ill only be about 30 name away.

That's not a risk if you're only 30 names away after this class going in. You're good brother. You will be in the November class if there is one. Fingers crossed.
