Mike from Elite seems reasonably confident that the next LT exam will be anywhere between January and March of next year. If that happens, is there any chance anyone from this list will make the exam?
My OPINION is that no one from the 2013 will make it in time for an LT exam in Jan/Feb, and that all but maybe the last batch of people from 2011 will make it. Just to put it into perspective, BMOCs would need to be at full capacity for just under 7 months - with no down time - from July to Jan to exhaust the list. If the exam is given later rather than sooner on the projected timeframe (late Feb/March), and promotions go full steam ahead consistently for the rest of the year, maybe the first promotions from 2013 have a [long] shot chance...and even then, if they make it, it'll be by a hair.
My opinion is they are going to want the top of 2013 list eligible for the test. I believe test will be later in 2015 than first 3 months. There's still a decent amount of people on Lts list. Probably won't announce lt test before they get down to about 100 people.
I don't see that happening. It's mainly wishful thinking on the part of many. There are 238 names left on the old list, which in reality is only 1-1.5 years of promotions. Even if an exam is announced today, you're looking at 6 months + the 6 months (or more) post-exam time it usually to get the list going, and it'll be a year minimum until the list is ready to go. Jan/Feb makes a lot of sense, with the first promotions maybe around late 2015/early 2016. This, of course, largely depends on the rate of promotion for the active list.
Also, I doubt the job looks at it in terms of "they want the top people" or along those lines. It's a numbers game based on current lists and projections. Again, all of this is just my opinion.

Mike has also said the 2011 list won't be cut so if you're solely going by his predictions than there's no way the 2013 list will make the next LT test.
I totally agree with 63ASAP. I doubt anyone from 2013 will make the test, projected the test will be Jan-March 2015. I think they will exhaust 2011 list around May 2015. Just my guess.
April or May sounds about right it's about 500 a year with 277 left for this year so around 1350 list number by dec give it another 5 months and they will start the 13 list!! It's all a waiting game no LT TEST for us on the 13 list!!!

Hahahonly chance any 2013s make it in time for a lieutenant test is if the 2011 is cut. Slim. Very slim.
