How to protest questions. WE STILL HAVE TIME!!!!!

Guys, 32forLife has a very good point on question 130. Most of us got it wrong and i think we should protest it. I went to the PRS but protested 2 others. We have 30 days from the date of the PRS to complete  protests by mail. Many guys here are short a point or 2 to make the list and if we protest some questions and get them thrown out  then those guys might have a shot.

I got this email from Yano right before the protest session:

I want to wish all my students and their families a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving!

I also wanted to provide you with some guidance for the November 30 Protest Session.

It is time to find out your tentative score before any protests are considered.

What should you protest?

  1. Determine the questions that you did not answer correctly according to the DCAS tentative answer key.
  2. Read each question that you identified and determine if you think there are grounds to protest.
  3. Any item where you can show your answer is equal or better or where because of a defect in the question, it cannot be answered.

  • Is there a factual error in the question? Quote the section in the Patrol Guide, etc...
  • Did the question pertain to the duty of a Police officer or a Sergeant? If it does not, explain why it is not a function of a sergeant and Articulate why your answer was just as good as their answer or better than their answer.
  • You need to provide documentation of some sort. Bring your Elite PG with you to the protest. Find information in the Patrol Guide that supports your answer.

Your answer only needs to be as good as their answer!

Good Luck!

How can we protest without the question booklet?

The majority of us got 130 wrong, someone stated it from the patrol guide that there's only a 61 if the kid is DOA. The jury duty one would  help everyone more because it was duplicated but in that case it would only be 1 point if they threw one out.

No booklet means you will have to remember the question. 130 is a good example of one that sticks on everyone's minds. Maybe some people might remember other questions as well  that can be protested and if the do then they should submit the protests.

 4. Prepare AIDED REPORT WORKSHEET (PD304-152b) or Police Accident Report (MV104AN), as appropriate, one (1) copy of MISSING/UNIDENTIFIED PERSON REPORT (PD336-151) and COMPLAINT REPORT WORKSHEET (PD313-152A) if victim is deceased

I already looked, theres only a 61 if they are deceased.

That's correct.  We looked at that one as a group in our room yesterday.  That's a very tricky question for #130!

I asked Yanosik if we can protest the duplicate question #36 and 121. he said try it, even though we aren't protesting the answers, just the fact that at least one of those questions should have not counted and been the experimental.  Those two jury duty questions should not be thrown out but others should get credit for them.

Also question #115 was about the prisoner holding pen roster according to 210-08. There were two answers that were good. I chose C. PG stated in line 2, 3 to designate a member to to inspect and check condition of prisoners every 30 minutes and enter results of inspection under appropriate caption on prisoner holding pen roster. Choice D was also good in my mind about notating the prisoners need for separation on the prisoner movement slip (as stated in additional data statement).

I believe choice D was incorrect because it stated " if prisoners must be seperated for confidential reasons then a note to seperate the prisoners will be made on the movement slip in addition to the reason for separation." In fact I believe the procedure is to make a notation to seperate the prisoners on the movement slips and if the reason is confidential then write a number where the AO can be reached.

Question 101 - the quest question
It's October 1 and the cop just finished his sept monthly and asked the sgt when it's due.

Choice a - due to sgt by 2nd and due to plat comm by 7th

Choice c - due to Sgt by 2nd and due to plat comm by 5th

They said answer is c. But did you notice that after completion of September the QUARTERLY review must be filled out!!
And according to io49s2011 steP 21 it's due to plat comm by the 7th!!!

Everyone who needs another point should protest this easy protest.

Good Luck!!

I protested two questions after becoming annoyed by the nonsense of dcas. One was the question about field report I believe two answers. I protested it based on the procedure to call Psa cond clerk is not a must its an exception the exception is if you can not make it to actual psa it's not a must.

the second one was write in your memo book 5 min prior to roll call sense answer provided was missing io s59 2011 the sector conditions if this helps

So does anyone know exactly how the questions that are thrown out affect your score? I have heard every poss. explanition from everyone I ask. If I got a 65 and they throw out 10 questions do I get a 75? How many questions on the average are thrown out? How many do you think will be thrown out on this one? Do people think there were a lot of questions with double answers or that were just plain wrong?

If questions are thrown out that you had marked wrong you will get the points. The more protest questions are submitted the higher chance of questions being thrown out . The amount of questions thrown out vary from

test to test , but in this case the classroom instructors for the preparation classes were not allowed in on the test or prs

, so we must fend for questions on our own .

Does anyone remember the full context of the assault/crim Mis question?  I remember reading the question during the test and thinking that it was a nonsense assault classification. I went to the protest, and of course I forgot to re-read the question. I'm thinking about submitting a written protest, but I can't remember enough of the question.

I protested the question 130 along with others that were in my classroom during the PRS, hopefully, they'll throw it out.

What about the question are you protesting.  The kid didn't die, a 61 shouldn't be done.  D is wrong.

I love it. People protesting just for the sake of protesting with no reasonable basis or grounds for doing so. I really love the crybaby protests over the jury duty question; "it was a good question but it was just unfair to ask it twice". Holy sht some people scare me. For the record, I'm not opposed to well grounded protests, in fact, I got number 130 wrong like many others but after examining the question and the available answers, there is NO BASIS to protest. The question is written well and the answer is clearly defined among the choices. I love when a question fools people on here and they're like "omg, that was unfair, everybody protest and they'll throw it out." WTF are you guys thinking? Good lord.

Thanks, soccerpsyco32. I feel like I remember that somewhere in the test there was a question about an assault that actually sounded more like an accident than anything else. Obviously this isn't the question. Lol. Now I'm not sure where I thought I saw this type of description in a question. Oh well. Time to stop picking on the small stuff and move on.

Forget about throwing out the exam people. There are plenty who passed. For those who didn't, good luck on the next exam. Let's just see what other questions can be protested to get a few extra points. Soccerpsycho and wingnut have been very helpful here in distinguishing the questions, Thank you.

Can we protest the second question to the continuous event, since they weren't right next to each other? Or that does not matter?

That is definitely one worth protesting. The question gives no backstory whatsoever.

What was the content in this question if you remember that is ?

I would strongly suggest anyone with doubts or concerns as to the validity of any question to go ahead and protest it. The worst the TVB board can do is deny your protest . Specially those missing a point or two to make the list.

Just my opinion

I remember it vaguely , I wonder if anyone recalls the question number it was on the exam ??
