So, how big do you think the new list will be?

I think it's safe to assume it's not going to be a very long list, unlike the last time.  I'd say around 1000 people.   What do you guys think?

Not going to be more than 550.   That's my Guess.

Strictly a guess based upon the amount that took the test, amount that stopped at 100, and people that have said they passed at my pct and neighboring pct I will put my guess at 750

Not sure why everyone is saying this list will be short. I thought the same, but everyone I know passed. Not only did they passed, most of them in the 80's and a few of them didn't go insane studying. The one's that failed didn't get to finish or weren't even remotely serious when studying. My feeling is that most people that put some effort into studying and finished the test, passed. I don't see this list being 1,600 but I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit 1,000.

No way this list will be under 650.

How is everyone coming up with these low numbers? Everyone I know has seemed to pass, I truly believe a more realistic list will be around 1100 unfortunately.

Everyone I know that studied hard seems to have passed.

They'll get a decent list but not like last time. After the 2011 test it was hard finding someone that failed. This is nothing like that.

Not sure out of the  8500-9000 that signed up to take the 2011 exam actually studied, but there were plenty of failures.  Not sure what you mean that it was hard to find anyone that failed.

Promotions from the 2013 list will be a lot quicker after the 2011 list is finished than you all may think. There will be plenty of pass overs from the 2013 list because of the amount of people that passed the 2011 list took this test.

I took the exam and am on the 2011 exam, I think a lot of people in the 1350-1663 range probably did also.

Listen...all I'm telling u is, I had guys working for me that never went to a class or bought a patrol guide...all they did was leisure read Key packets and they passed the 2011 exam. Midtown North Precinct had about 22 cops from their command make the list. The list for this test will not come close to the 1600 person list the 2011 exam produced

patrol guide is the patrol guide. You don't read it, you don't pass. Other than the extra questions on the 2013, test was a ground ball and fair. The same goes for the 2011 list, ground ball if you read. And that goes for every other test. You don't read you don't pass. It's not like other SGT's tests had chemistry questions on it and the 2011 test questioned things like what's your favorite color. PG IS...PG

Wanabmade, you are always complaining when someone points out that the 2011 test wasn't hard. I see you constantly defending yourself, what do you care, you're on the list? Your getting made.

The fact is that the 2011 test wasn't hard. Neither was the 2013 exam. I took the 2011 test and scored a 68, and I honestly didn't read the patrol guide, I read the packets and did not put nearly

the amount of time I put in for the 13 test. Most people that scored in the 70's in the 11 test  DID NOT BUST THEIR ASS STUDYING. Sure they studied, but it didn't take much

to get a 70. Same with the 2013 test, ground ball, fair test. The people that really studied are in the 80's+ in my opinion. I know this because I went from a 68 on the 11 test to a

near 90 on the 13 test.  Both the 2011 and 2013 test were very fair, very straight forward and no one who got a 70 on the 11 test can say they studied "hard" it's BS.

The 13 test was just as fair, but the difference is a person who got a 70 probably got screwed with the time and extra questions, which generally, IMO, would make a 70

on the 13 test a bit better than a 70 on the 11 test.

All of you that passed and who are still complaining about your scores not being what you expected are a bunch of douche bags...I know a couple of very closed friends here and in the department that would trade their 65 or 69 for a 70. What's the different between a 70 and a 100? Absolutely nothing. At the end of the day we will all be Sergeants regardless as to whether he scored a 70 and you a 100. I myself am very pleased and grateful with my 78. To me, it makes no difference Whether I study a lot or a little, what matters is that I accomplished the mission. I am very grateful for that and will be patiently wait ing for my day of promotion..NO RUSH!!!! For now congratulations to all who pass and let's help motivate those that did not make it or are close to making it. Good night all.

I agree, 70 or 100 your getting made. So who cares. That's my point to wannabmade. However, a person getting close to 100 and a person getting a 70 may not mean anything in the sense that both are getting promoted, but it does not mean a lot in terms of the commitment and work someone put into the test. It's funny, it's always those who barely passed the test (and I am not talking about you Romeo, 78 IMO shows you studied not just to pass) always put down the ones who scored high. It means nothing in terms of who will make a good boss, but don't put down the amount of work it took to get the score.

I'm not disputing your point at all. I agree. You know what they call the guy that got a 70 on the test... A sergeant. I'm just sick of stiggy always acting like if you had a pulse and sat for the 2011 test you passed. It's insulting IMO. If you didn't study at all, more like likely you will fail these tests. That's my point. I think it's pointless to add your two cents into how hard test was and discuss the future of promotional classes because that's what matters to those that passed and not dwell on the past and how hard or not the tests are.

Oh god, wash the sand out of your vagina. "I find it insulting"...waaah waaah. Of course you had to study to pass that test just like any other test. No one is saying otherwise....but to act like the difficulty level of each exam is the same is ludicrous. And the "there's no difference between the guy that got a 100 and the guy that got 70" holds true in that both will be sergeants. The difference is, that when the guy with a 70 gets promoted, the guy with a 100 will be several years closer to top pay. That 4 year stretch is brutal.
