RE: The 30 really does not count..

Nope... not at all.... because you SHOULD know the inbasket is going to be counted 100% -_- come on jaribu... Why Lose out on Correct answers. FYI I got the test done in 5 hours, its not too crazy to think you could do 130 in 6 hours, sucks it was done so sneaky and underhanded but what do you expect from this Job?

hopefully people mail their letter to DCAS for protest session. Lets move on and focus on what lies ahead. we should all prepare ourselves for writing an excellent protest statements, at the session. Help each other out by sharing the knowledge of good constructive writing.

The test booklet clearly stated that the research questions were spread out randomly through out the exam. So you had to do all the 130 questions. "Attention to Detail". I hope people didn't stop at 100.

Absolutely agree with your statement, that DCAS did NOT even decide yet which questions will be the research questions, I'm guessing they will make their decision based on how many people answered certain questions correct or wrong to try eliminate. On the other note, I've read the test booklet itself, where it was clearly said that "Booklet contains 130 questions 30 of which is for research purposes and you MUST answer them all and additional 30 questions spread out randomly throughout the test"

Spoke to deputy director of test at dcas. She stated that the the purpose of the extra questions have many reasons but one of the main reasons was to see that if a group of sample questions given statistically match the the same amount of right and wrong answers when compared to the regular test questions. If they do in the future they will give people taking the test at a later time a different test.
She also stated that dcas felt that 6 hours was plenty of time to do 130 questions . Dcas also by stated that by law doesn't have to tell us how many test questions they're giving or even how much time we have to complete the test until the time of the test. She also said those 30 questions were preselected before the test and are spread throughout the test. It will not be the last 30 questions. She said as an example on the next sergeant test there may be only 100 questions but they could decide to make it only 4hours and 30 minutes to complete but won't tell us until we sit down with the test.
