This list will be done by June 2014. Watch almost every one on this lost if not all will be eligible.

Hate to disagree Semp1, but I think it's a long shot, if I understood what u said correctly. Either way, if I'm lucky enough to get made b4 the LT test, I'll b ready since I will retake the sgt test. Now, here's an off topic question, how r the LT test different from the Sgt one? Anyone care to comment? Thx.

The difference: the Sgt tests have been more straightforward whereas the Lt test is usually a shiitshow. The last test we had:

3 throwouts

3 triple answers

14 double answers

Read the PG as many times as you possibly can before the exam regardless if you take classes. It will help a lot. Good luck.

Are you saying the Lt's list or the Sgt. List will be done by June 2014?

I hate to burst your bubble but if there is a Lt exam in the spring of 2014, a panel would not be put together until December 2013 or January 2014 at the latest. It takes about 5-6 months to put the exam together. As someone who is familiar with the process I can assure you that a Lt test is far from everyone's minds at this point.

Ondeeair I am asking for your OPINION and just that nothing more.

Gun to your head. What list # you think we will get to before the CHANCE of cutting the list arises?

made a guesstimation taking into account the avg class has been 59 bodies plus the past holdovers. Of course some of the disciplinary holdovers may die on the list but I assumed that every hold over would get made. So with that said My number is very conservative : 1027-1123.

By this time next year the list will be well over 1000, the list will not be killed. If they do, I'll be surprised.

This information is 100% wrong. It's wishful thinking. If you are not a sgt. By November of 2013 you will not be taking the next LT test ;)

John Jay gave me 29 credits for the academy plus you get 12 credits for free at John Jay paid for by the city council. This is the link to the information about it at john jay http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/730.php PM me if anyone has any questions about the program at john jay i finished it last may. also you have one class that the state pays for if you are a cop (not a boss) but that ends very soon.

Eday it depends on when you graduated. If you have 10 and up you got 30. Less then 10 is 33 for some reason. I know because I have 9 yrs as of next month and I did the Excelsior college credit bank and it shows 33 credits. My bro has almost 11 years and he has 30

same info ondeair has....you cant pin an exact month right now. They all did seem to think the sgt list will be cut....just their opinions based on the test coming out so early. Time will answer all.

What's the deal with taking the LT exam- do you have to be promoted to sgt before the end of filing, or can you file for the exam as a PO and hope to get promoted to SGT before the test date?

You can file as a PO, need one day in rank (sgt) to be eligible for promotion.
