The key in basket was key (no pun intended) for me.

I have taken 2 exams prior to finally passing i took the key twice even though the key is great and I'm pretty sure every other school is probably good as well but the real reason I passed was cause I read the patrol guide in its entirety. I dedicated my whole summer to this last exam and I finally passed. The point I'm trying to make is that you can go to any school but if you don't put the time and effort into reading the guide along with going to class you either will fail or not pass with such a high grade. When the going gets tuff and you feel like you wanna quit just hang in there and remember that anyone can pass this test with effort and dedication. With that being said I do recommend the key and the rank is 100x better. Also when you are studying stay away from people who try to discourage you and the ones who try to confuse you giving you wrong info.

I have to agree with sosgunner. It doesnt matter which class you take. All it matter is to put the time and sacrifice to study along with any classes either key or fast track. Keep up with reading every procedure to understand it and remember it, take quizes and tests and dont give up. Good luck to all!

It's as much about the instructor you choose as it is about the school (this coming from a former teacher). Chief Shea at the Key classes is the best. You need someone to break things down so you understand them and remember them, but you also need someone that entertains you enough that you pay attention. I haven't found anyone better than Chief Shea, and I've looked.

Capt. Misfud from The Key keeps you pretty entertained and his teaching style keeps you awake.

Have to agree. Capt. Misfud is outstanding! Teaches the Bronx class most weeks. Think he does Brooklyn too?

Shea has a good speaking voice, but the reason I stopped going to his classes was he did not read off of anything and he was making too many mistakes. The class is fluid so many people did not notice. I just found it annoying that I couldn't move forward bec I was checking the patrol guide all the time to see if maybe it was me who who misremembered the PG. My only critique with Shea is he should have notes just in case he is not sure what to procedure says instead of winging it.

Chief Shea is the best IMO. He's the reason why I didn't drop any inbasket questions. I always thought he was on point especially the way he breaks down CIMS. Would def go with him on Sundays in Rockland.
