I called the Uniform promotions desk. They say promotions are still on for friday, but that they dont have a time. She said Finest should be coming down tommorrow. I called BMOC Lt. said that they havnt heard anything. I would put my money on it being at 1400 hrs.
I actually learned stuck behind the Desk unable to hide LOL- I just wish they specified on the 49 (Ya know, which wasn't a telephone message like it should have been and was probably discarded with the other 250 faxes a day) NO outside tours. I don't want ANYTHING to do with the outside world til after Friday. They specify "Ride alongs" with supervisors- like no ones driven a boss prior... So let's make them drive a boss to all priorities and heavy jobs in a Pct they arent't familiar with. Or they can sit in the back of a caged car as the Boss has the usual Op drive for 8 hrs. That's the only part which annoyed me.
The highlight of my day was entering a prisoners info into the cmd log.. as if I couldn't already transfer the same exact info from the ped. card. I didn't even get to do the stamp myself - now that would have made it all worth it.
One more thing - I have been hearing from more than one person that for some of us this will be our permanent cmds.. Can anyone clarify if this is possible? Brat maybe?
It's a good idea... Some guys get promoted and just freeze when **** hits the fan on the desk.
I don't think they wanted you to see how slow it is, I'm pretty sure they wanted you to focus on the aspects that might rattle a new Sgt. Ie, 8 prisoners, a shooting out in the field, sick prisoner, on the spot G.O with duty capt present, no cars keys, gas delivery, narco processing, guys scamming in the command, media in front of S/H... Stuff like that that can get chaotic for someone wet behind the ears with no one around to help out. They want you to ask questions because it's a little tougher to do so as a Sgt, gets annoying.
That would be interesting if this is gonna be our permanent commands. The CO is actually a very good guy. Heard nothing but good things not only from the bosses but the cops as well. Brat could you tell us if this may be true. As always thanks Brat.
Hopefully everyone got the call from Sgt . D. Confirming Friday . She also said that she will call us tommorrow to tell us our commands . Congrats once again
In 5 weeks she does one thing of any importance and gets it wrong by telling me 1430.. did anyone else get told 1430 or is it just me? I want their job up there doing absolutely nothing all day but announcing speakers who put us to sleep.
Just noticing some interesting patterns emerging. A buddy of mine in the last Sgt exam told me that just before the down month a big class was put into BMOC. Is it coincidence that after a few 50+ BMOC classes they return to a 70+ BMOC class? I think not. Before you nitwits call me a troll, I am suppose to go into the next BMOC class.
In my opinion, September is looking more and more like a down month.
