Ok so the number was in fact as small as 40. Someone mentioned that this class might have been so small because its a class of Sgt's intended for WTC command. Anyone hear anything confirming that?

I mentioned that. That was just a total guess/theory as to why it's such a small class. I have no inside info and I don't know ANYBODY in the know.

A cop from my command went through alot of interviews and he has a millitary background... Supposedly they are trying to get them to walk w a special type of gun, so i dont beleive a sgt out of bmoc would get the detail just cause of bmoc... Maybe they would be the sgts replacing the sgts going to that detail... Who knows..i dont know anyone, just an opinon..

That was my thinking too. Why would this department put fresh sgt's into a brand new command? That's like filling the command with brand new rookies straight out of the academy. Okay maybe that's a bit extreme but I would think they would try to atleast get sgts with a little bit of time.

I be;ieve all the transfers for the WTC command came down already. It was in the finest 2 weeks ago, LT's Sgt's and PO's from all over the city already assigned there. So i don't think that theory is true....

I heard that was only the first wave. Supposedly, the WTC command is still accepting applications for a second wave. Usually the second wave is bigger than the first wave. Not sure of how many got transferred to the wtc command two weeks ago but more than likely the next wave will be a bigger amount.
