Wow that would be three months in a row. We went from no summer classes to having three in a row???? Crazy.

Another class in August or September? I hope theres another big class in August. I'm roughly 75-85 names away (don't want to give away my name :) ) so good chance i'll make it or I might just miss it. Depending on how big the class is and any skip overs will determine if I get in. Hopefully August I'll be in. Any new info keep us posted guys. Thanks and be safe.

Who confirmed no August class? I haven't heard anything about there being or not being a class. It's been pretty quiet lately but I think if anything is happening for August we should hear bits of rumbles this week. Let's all hope for the best.

All we know is that they've pushed our promotion back to 8/2. The instructors haven't mentioned anything regarding future classes. Sorry. If they do, I'll be sure to post it.

Just register for the Lt. exam. I'm between 70-75 names away. Hope i didn't just waste a 100 bucks.! Can anyone recall quickly how many names the list moved with the July Class?

Just a piece of mind info. If you decide not to apply for the lt. exam because you feel that you won't be promoted in time but somehow you get promoted right before the exam (lets say in October), DCAS will allow you to apply for the Lt exam and be eligible. I was reading the LT. exam application and that was one of the exemptions for late filing. I personally feel that if you are on the fence, like myself, don't take the chance and just file. It's not that we've been quiet, the thing is, the instructors and the guess speakers are not saying much. They don't even know if there will be a sgt class next month or not. The instructors said there might be a lieutenant and captain class next month, I guess everything is still up in the air. Good luck to you all! I hope you get called soon enough.

150 is cutting it really close. You figure two classes of atleast 70-75 people with some skip overs and you are in. I'm on the same boat, I might just make the next class or I might be one of the first to be called for the class after next. Either way I'm studying my ass off. Lt. test is given once every couple of years, I rather study my ass off and not be eligible rather then be eligible and not study at all. At the end of the day, as hard as it is to read the PG, it's only to our benefit as a boss. Let's all hope for 3 more classes, Aug Sept & Oct. The more the merrier.

What's unjust? The fact that we are waiting to get promoted? Or the fact we might not get promoted in time for the LT exam? We all have to understand that the city from November 2010 to the present has promoted about 447 sgts. That's pretty dam good compared to a lot of other departments out there. I know 340 or so of us are still in limbo about getting promoted before the exam but I'm just happy to be getting the call sometime in the near future. Good luck to all.

I really hope there is an August class. With that said, I highly doubt it now; It looks like the only chance we have is if the department has a last minute decision and puts in a very small class (25-35). Looking forward to September.

Don't know what it exactly means but the department has cleared up to #540 on our list. Hope it is a good sign though.

Not too sure. When I called the education tracking unit, I asked what number they have cleared up to, and they said 540. I guess you can talk to your ICO, and ask if you are cleared to get promoted. Also has anyone heard of anything about phase 1 classes going in? It has been way to quiet lately. Any information would be great.

That sounds like a really good sign, that they clearedup to 540.... The last few classes seemed like the cleared 20 more than went in.... Maybe, just maybe theyre getting ready for a capt, Lt, and Sgt class, and that would bring it up to 520, presuming not passovers improved their satus.... Who knows??!?!!? No hook here, just observant!

It won't stop you from being cleared since there is no way for them to find out that you have an open CD.

Any decent CO will adjudicate your CD a few days before you start BMOC anyway.

All I know is that it is too quiet leading me to believe there won't be a bmoc for sgt's in August. Hope I'm wrong. Hopefully the department squeezes in two classes before the exam.

this is gonna sound like a weird question... but does anyone know... up until list number 500 if anyone in that group would definitely be skipped over?? obviously other than #487 (who's already a sgt)
