The next # up for promotion is 1377 the list is good for another 2 years if you average 67 per class it would get to # 3000

If you average 75 per class it can easily get to 3200 plus or minus

This month doesnt look likely, sba contract wont be ratified until the first week of may. Expect big classes to follow from May on.

Guys please dont forget where you came from . There are a lot of really terrible Sgts taking this rank . Its a lot of responsibility , a lot of BS , probably the toughest rank. Just stick up for your guys and gals , have an answer , and dont be afraid to make a decision. Money should not be the reason youre ranking up because honestly you can make more as. DET or PO killing transit or whatever OT and not have the pressure or responsibility that comes with the rank !

Appreciate that, Lionnel. Totally agree with you. We're all one team just trying to make it through together. Being a supervisor isnt just about giving orders its about stepping up, setting the example, and having each others backs.
At the end of the day, we all lean on one another, and that's how we get through the tough days and keep moving forward.

Do you think well have concrete #s today. Being that finest has been dropping Tuesday of promotion week.

Classes graduate in May and July. Should be about 1600 cops with another

roughly 1,000 cops being sworn in next week. Hoping for a 100+ class of Sgts

going in May.

Im About 100 names away and 12 years on, what are the odds of our command respecting our vacation picks now that were 6 months through the year. I booked a trip to Greece in July . I cant keep waiting around for possibility of a class going in anymore my life is not going to be on hold bc of this trash job.

It can happen, Id say odds are that your new command will honor your pick, especially if you have a trip booked. They honored my summer AVP after I got promoted to Sgt. All depends on your Ops Coordinator, really. If theyre trash, youre going to be screwed.

They didnt honor my picks when I was first promoted. Luckily I prepared for that and didnt plan any vacations. It all depends on your command and ops coordinator.

Its all about how your Ops is, mine was a gentleman and they were honor. When you get promoted and sent to a comd just speak to the Ops respectfully and humbly, see if they could do anything when it comes to that.

When i got promoted, they let me keep all of my weeks except for one because there was already 3 sergeants off. I actually ended up getting a better pick.

I didnt have a trip planed but they did asked me about it. My admin lt was also aces.

when I got promoted I went to a busy command and wasn't able to carry my picks. In fact, the Ops Lt wouldn't even let me and the other new sgt who came pick any of the remaining available free weeks (we got there in October). Yes, the holidays are a shit show there, and we were short bosses, but still we weren't even picky and got nothing. Ops Lt wasn't even a bad guy overall. Just priming you guys for what may come.
