Happy 1 Year Anniversary to my Day 1 exam takers that succeeded. Time flys so fast. I still remember the major migraine I had for two days after taking that exam.

This class will put them at about list number 230 with zero vacancies and 8 months left in the year. The 2023 catchup will be over. So probably about 150-175 more in 2024. Around list 400 end of this year, 700s winter/spring 2026, 1000s first half of 2027, and end of the list right before the expiration which is January 2028.

 I agree with that and I tend to think slightly less this year around 350 total for the end of year. Most likely 2 more classes this year for LT and thats it. Just going off previous lists they only tend to do 4-5 LT classes per year.

After this class there will be 0 Lt vacancies. So promotions will slow down significantly. Even the Sgt promotion will slow down as well. For the first time in my 3 yrs in rank my command has 3 sgts for each tour as we got 2 new sgts from last class. Vacancies for all lists are reaching single digit because of continuous bigger numbers which are unprecedented before. Not trying to be pessimistic but thats is the reality.

Very large academy classes continue to reach the 20/25 year mark going forward. If this year is anything like the last election year in terms of overtime, you will likely see a considerable spike in retirements across all ranks.

Thursday sounds weird. So you get promoted on Thursday, work friday then RDO Sat/Sun? Why not promotion on Friday then swing out weekend start on Monday.
