I presume if they do 50 in March, going forward we will see promos ranging from 30-45 Lts. I have no inside knowledge just guesstimating.

Yea . It's definitely going to slow down drastically.

Who knows.. After the 50 in march, they might do 10-20 until the end of the year

Theres have been retirements and promotions since that original 200 number came out. Someone has to get the updated vacancy numbers

I cant see this happening. Isnt there a hard cap on the number of
Lieutenants? With the recent promotion theres only like 60 vacancies.

Vacancies dont always dictate promotions they are a good indicator but its not alqays a 1 for 1

More precincts are entering the 12 hour tours. 2 LTs per tour is a contractual agreement. The job has to promote. So imo this list will be done prior to the 4 year mark.

If anything I think this only creates about 100 vacancies if we take into account all pcts/transits/psas.

Someone posted last week that they were going to attempt to get promotion number from OMB today

Nothing today- the only info I was able to get is that theres a hard cap on the promotions based on vacancy numbers for sergeants and lieutenants but not Captains. (This may have been obvious but was emphasized).

Promotion requests are now done through an OMB system that goes based on vacancies.

As soon as I have the numbers I will post.

For the budget perspective, there are around 200-250 allotments per fiscal year. After these 59 going in, most likely there may not be any Lt promotion until July 2024. We are happy that apprx 200 plus are promoted or being promoted.

What we need is a vacancy update guy, his numbers dont lie. Thats the most telling number to go based off right now. They most definitely wont over promote LTs
