As it reads in the AG:

Waste length, navy blue, knit wristlets and waistband, and zip side vents, or hip length, navy blue, concealed zipper front, gilt buttons, and zip side vents. 

Im seeing a bunch of jackets that look pretty different than the typical old school Blouer jackets we all know and loveAre the newer ones from 511 frowned upon?  Considering they fit the above requirements.

Seen plenty of them at details worn by LTs and Captains, wore one myself in a command with a nitpicky CO, should be all right.
