Starting pay only goes up by percentage increase.then in 2025 add those below figures for additional increases most likely due to lt top pay w their contract. As for retro just take your pay now and times it by .0325 to see retro for first year. Then itll be alil more bc they will owe you part of 3.25 that took effect 8/1/23

No those are the top pay numbers with the new contract.  Starting pay will be around 150

Should be coming...Lou Turco and the union are going to fold on 12 hour tours. Once they pass the vote to bring it to the membership, the membership will sadly vote yes. Most of these LTs just simply want the money. So 12 hour tours coming for the LBA, 10 hour tours not far off for Captains

Why is that sadly? Less appearances = more time with your family. I would vote on 24 hour tours if it was possible.

Mandatory weekend coverage. Stats usually on Wednesday / Thursdays. Community meetings usually on Tuesdays. Youd just be answering calls and emails from home for three days instead of two days. Tough to pick three days off in my opinion. Besides, its seldom a captain would leave work after 8/9 hours.

Ooo okay. I was referring to it from a Lieutenants perspective. But I can see what you mean when it comes to rank of captain.

This job is bleeding personnel left and right. If you think your rdos will not get touched and youll have more time with the fam youre out of your mind. 8:45 still allows you to do either pick up or drop offs for the kids. Working 10 or 12 hour tours kills any possibility of that every single day youre scheduled to work. Plus ot is harder to do after 10/12 hrs of work and again lets see if you actually get to be off on your rdos. They are selling you a dream, the job just wants you at work for longer hrs. I used to say 25 and out but Im caving its 20 and out

For CO/XO spots being off 3 days a week is unrealistic. You have the aforementioned meetings and stats, and then you have to prep when you're not at those meetings/stats. Then throw in details/demos/duties/coverages on top of that. You need to be there 5 days a week thats the bottom line.

Everything is realistic if they gonna increase headcount for captains.

I agree with you. I don't think I am sticking around. I wanted to do 25, the last 5 in the rank of capt, but it's becoming too challenging to do that.

Thats not happening. We will never get to the level of po, sgt, etc where we need to be. And its still this bad with an ex cop as our mayor. This job has become do more with less and that is not changing.

Does anyone know where we can actually read the current contract in full? Is it posted anywhere in the department?
