That new unit has a crappy approach, but I do agree with there being some better enforcement of personal appearance across the board. There are too many cops growing out these beards to ridiculous lengths, and the general appearance of some MOS uniforms can be atrocious. It was no different with inspections and being clean shaven. Youd have people grow out a few days stubble to push the envelope. Now you allow 1/2 beards across the board, and literally hundreds have to push that envelope and start doing Gandalf impressions. Maybe Im old school, but personal appearance counts for a lot. These smaller departments elsewhere do not put up with half the nonsense that weve begun to allow some hairbags here to pull.

def has a crappy approach. beard is one thing but what I think its even more important is physical appearance. We dont have to be larry wheels, but damn some people really let themselves go after the academy. Doesnt LA pay extra for being fit, or do they just pay you an hour to go to the gym?

The list doesnt wait for military/sick/pregnant people to take the exam. Thats not the reason our list is not out yet. why hasnt it come out yet? Who the hell knows, Im hoping for it come before May, but Misfud has not been wrong yet. So Im going to take his word for it, and expect a May list.

1. Protest Review Period (Only for multiple-choice exams):

As part of this process, NY State Civil Service Law provides a limited period of time in which each candidate is eligible to protest proposed answers to multiple-choice test questions. Any challenges received during the protest period are reviewed by a Test Validation Board (TVB). Upon completion of the TVB review, appropriate changes are applied, if necessary, and a final answer key is established.

TVB is usually 30 days after an official list is established by DCAS. Majority of the people do not attend because they really dont care anymore since their on the list. On the contrary the people who failed definitely dont show up because nothing can change the fact.
