list is gonna slow considerably. bottleneck effect, tons of young captains. look for it to slow from here on out

The 2nd class will be about 15-20. They still might put that class in on Friday, if not it will be end of March. A lot of CO spots need to be filled.

After the second class, the list will probably move slower and the 10-15 per class every few months or so will be the norm.

Same reason Im saying that NOT everyone will get promoted. List is 479. They usually promote 60 a year (thats 240 in four years). City curved exam so we have a bigger pool of eligibles. Being on a list DOES NOT guarantee promotion. Were coming out of a pandemic, yes Captains are younger so movement will be limited unless more executives start retiring. We will soon find out. There are currently 7 Captain vacancies with 23 on Terminal leave for a total of 30 vacancies. There are 38 DI vacancies with 13 on Terminal leave for a total of 51 vacancies. I can see them promoting maybe 20-30 captains if they also promoted a few to DI.

 Yes, they have cleared a lot of names.  City Hall has not approved anything yet. For the last promotion, they gave the green light at the last possible minute. I can see this happening again. If anyone hearing an exact number, please advise.
