Congrats on playing yourselves. I doubt this list gets made at this point garnering this much attention. To the folk that spent 7 months studying, grueling, I commend you. You did the best you could, you did it the right way. Nothing to be ashamed about. To those that shared answers.....remember all the videos in the news or everytime someone got jammed up it's because a video or a message or something was leaked. Your chat-box will be leaked too. To those that were in that chat box, when the leaker is sat infront of the suits....he will rat you out too. Many many jam ups are coming down and the cheaters ABSOLUTELY deserve it. Nobody to blame or be mad at but yourself.

I will not hesitate to drop an IAB log number on anyone who cheated or aided in the cheating. Send all the screenshots you have to IAB and the identities of the senders. I hope they get disqualified

Agreed. What's right is right.. And those cheaters are not right..

And to be honest, it would be hard for me to be okay with anyone that leaks any information.. those people lack integrity and are playing with my life, my money and my career.

NOT cool!

I have 0 sympathy for anyone who got answers and who sent them. You get what you deserve. 8 months of studying I cant get back. 8 months away from my family trying to better their life. Those of you who are parents understand how precious your time is with your kids. So much sacrifice for a bunch of cheaters, most of whom have under 5 and have done jack sh$t in their career, to share answers for a competitive promotional exam. As somebody who would give their shirt off their back for another copwell your on your own for this one. To those who put in the work and studied, just know you did it the honest way and tried your best.

This was the exact reason they changed the exam away from Saturdays. They just made the problem so much worse.

I am convinced the Commissioner of DCAS does not like law enforcement and likes to screwed with peoples lives.  Not sure who in their right mind was okay with the idea of the same questions the very next day.

I am no expert, but all it takes is OPTION 1: a written exam for the rank of PO, and computerized exam for other ranks.

OR OPTION 2: two totally different exams for day and separate exam for day two. Those who wrote the exam test the hardness and fairness. That same person who took both exams, their scores for both exams should be around the same score.  However, I also see an issue with OPTION 2.

But same exact exact questions is silly! It doesn't surprise me though.

Needless to say, DCAS screws up again!

Commissioner of DCAS needs to be held accountable. This is no small issue we are talking about.

The Mayor needs to bring these people to the podium for answers.

Agreed across the board with the above. Although I hate to say it because I hate to see anyone jammed but confirmed, not NYPD rumor mill, logs have been dropped and there is talk of not only termination but prosecution, the latter I think may be a stretch but I can see people being made examples of with termination. Once this shit hit the news, it was a wrap. I hope of the 800+ who viewed this post and are now shitting their pants, did you really think the people you fu*ked over were just going to lay there and take it? It just sucks because I was looking forward to people joining the SBA so we can get some better prescription benefits lol.

Hennigans hit the nail on the head. We complain that the job treats us like babies, micro manages, and has us under a microscope at all times. Well, do you wonder why? Why I am in no way condoning the horrible work conditions a NYC cop is under, you cant be surprised sometimes. You have grown ass adults that are taking a serious promotion exam, which most of us who have been doing the right thing have been studying for 8+ months, that cant keep their god damn mouth shut and fingers off the keyboards for not even 24 hours. Like hennigans I would give anything for a fellow cop, up to and including my life. But I have no remorse and also will have NO problem cooperating and exposing these cheaters to IAB. The worst part of this job is truly the people inside of it.

I hate to break everyones bubble of hope but this isnt the first time DCAS has made poor decisions at administering exams. Its not the first time thats theres allegations of cheating and rumors that a test will be thrown out but from experience I can tell you guys that nothing will come of it. Having an article on the newspaper wont change a thing neither will any internal investigations. A list will be made and people will get promoted off that list and thats about it.

I disagree. Bringing attention and light to this could and would make a difference. (One thing that will not help make a difference it being quiet and not putting up a good fight).

2015 Lt Exam (Vucinaj): initially 6% passed, making it the lowest passing exam in NYPD history. (6% not including scammers who took exam on alternative date)

-38% of those who took exam same test on alternative date passed (compared to 6%)

-List including scammers totaled to approximately 204 names

-Articles were published in several newspapers

-Initially zero throw-outs as result of the protest

-A lawsuit was filled

-Police Commissioner wrote email to entire Police Department, saying zero throw-outs, its final, and nothing else can be done

-There was a counter-suit. In result, 3 questions were thrown out

-As a result of the good fight, approx. 630 people were promoted off the 2015 LT exam compared to the 204 mentions above (my numbers may be a little off)

-NOTE: Change that came - since 2015 LT exam, most all exam have been fair. Not easy, but straight forward

Point in case: change can for the better can come, and I truly believe you all have a good chance to prevail and make positive change

FYI: it took over a year for the 2015 Lt list to get finalized. First class to get promoted was a year AFTER taking the exam.

And that ladies & gentleman is a recap of the lowest passing exam in NYPD history - 2015 Lt Exam

As for your exam: the way DCAS administered this exam allowed a clear cheating scandal, which is totally unfair since day two exam takers had an overwhelming advantage.

this right here. This is exactly what i was thinking when the news broke the story. Yes, if i failed or even barely failed, i take 100% accountability even thought i did study hard. Probably harder for any exam I can remember taking my entire life, all the way up to graduate level college courses. BUT, this is why the job treats us like children. Yes i may have possibly failed, but in no way shape or form does this allow people who have been studying for 7 or 8 months to get totally screwed over because you didn't prepare. I do feel bad for those who didnt cheat on day 2 - i really do. i feel for you because i studied hard and i wanted those who also studied hard to prosper even at my own expense. But **** these cheaters, you DONT deserve it. The job treats us like children because WE are our own worst enemy, not anyone else even the worst of the worst - we do this to ourselves.

Of course the PO's who shared and received test questions are fucked, maybe rightfully so, just for the reason of being colossal retards by putting themselves out there.

BUT DCAS has an obligation to prevent bullsh*t like this. It's human nature to get over. The NYPD has so much shit on their plate, when one thing goes wrong we all get it up the a**. DCAS literally has one f**king job to do, administer tests, and they can't even do that without messing up big time, and SEVERAL times already at that.

It's a SHAME that the only heads that will roll from this are the cops.

Hes right. Cheating has been going on for decades. Its pretty much a part of the test lol

just live; learn; keep studying and do your best. Life will go on.

if you passed theres a 90% chance youll become a sergeant. The job needs sergeants due to the amount of upcoming retirements and resignations.

At the end of the day the job doesnt care what your score is, doesnt matter if you got a 99 or a 70.1. Youre still a sergeant on this job
