they fill out paperwork to get promoted to their next rank..I heard from a admin LT today that he got an email for a Paa to report for Tuesday To fill out her promotion paperwork. But dont know if they do this days or weeks ahead of the actual promotion.
243 Sgt promotions for the remainder of the year. Heard Vaccine mandates coming & whoever isnt will get skipped on the list. Take it for what its worth, I was told but a white shirt & I have no reason to come here to post bull**** nonsense.

That makes no sense. Bosses need to be vaccinated but cops don't?
The mandate would be for everyone, not just for one rank. If i had to put money i would bet the mandate for everyone happens before the end of the month

Should trim the list down some more by atleast 100+
A hypothetical mandate wouldn't affect the list at all unless you think they're ready to just fire thousands of cops (or people are willing to lose their job over it.)
I wouldnt call it hypothetical. Look at the facts, the recent news and the obvious predictions.
The Supreme Court denied to hear the case and all the other lower federal/state courts upheld the vaccine mandate for teachers. The PD and FD PCs support a mandate. So its up to city hall to decide if they are willing to take a huge manpower loss on top of the already low manpower. Any UMOS with 20+ years with a strong enough objection to the vaccine will just retire. That is something city hall definitely wouldnt mind, the longer Tier 2 UMOS stay the bigger their pension. So the question is, can city hall predict how many UMOS not eligible to retire will refuse the mandate and is that a number they can deal with. Lets be honest, just like the teachers, many will end up getting the vaccine if it becomes a mandate.
And for those holding out for a magical Union play - Pat Lynchs statement was comical that he would continue to fight for the rights of unvaccinated members. I would love to know how, he cant even keep our contract current. Maybe Lynch cant remember the structure of our judicial branch, but there is no options above the US Supreme Court if they denied to hear the case.
Just get the damn vaccine already. You anti science conspiracy theorists is whats holding us back as a country. As an immigrant myself I always saw USA as a country of reason and scientific data only to realize that there are idiot redneck morons here as well.

anybody dumb enough to throw away a career and a pension over the vaccine is no great loss anyway
We might lose a dozen cops who watch too much Newsmax but when push comes to shove most of the holdouts will get it.
"well covid was the #1 cause of death for cops in 2020 and 2021 and the vaccine hasn't killed a single cop and has no statistically significant side effects, I guess I'll throw away my six figure salary and million dollar pension because Karen on Facebook says so"

Guys wont go sick as a statement by the union because theyre afraid to lose their S/S off but you think theyll pass on the vaccine and lose out on their pension? Lol

Agree completely we can learn a lot from Buffalo PDs solidarity

I see the "miserables" are back. SMH no matter what your feelings are on the vaccine. The mandate is coming.
As much as everyone rant and rave on this message board about getting promoted, do not be the reason you are passed over "if" a mandate is enforced.
To follow up on what someone said earlier... being a sgt is a lot of work. I am almost 3 months in. However, I am happy I was promoted. There's good and bad with everything. I try to focus on the good. HOWEVER....It's annoying changing people around who refuse to vaccinate and "forget to get test".

That's what I mean when I say any mandate wouldn't affect the list.
I also heard few days ago at the academy that it was a week so Mondays seems like it is. Hopefully no more last minute delays. And btw the rank is not bad. Been a Sgt for almost 9 years and dont regret it. Now looking for more sgts to get promoted so I can look for other spots.
