chief of depts' office does not want to take anyone off patrol so transfers are more or less done with for a while. If you are off patrol a little easier to move around. I can see them holding off on promotions for as long as possible. Do more with less.

Sadly youre prob Right.. I didnt want to believe no promos until Jan. Or even July 2021. But I can see it!

Unfortunately it seems like this list is not going to get anywhere close to finished, And I doubt it will be extended. This entire year because of the cities money concerns i would expect a new test end of next year so jus be prepared for another test honestly cant see a way for this list to really move in the time left before its expiration.

By the numbers there was never really a chance of getting through the entire list. There's 1325 people on the list. Over 48 months that would mean an average of over 27 people promoted each month. I did the math a while ago, if I remember correctly the average promotions for Lieutenant was like 14 a month. That would have to be nearly doubled for the whole list to get made.

I'm not sure of the headcount of Lieutenants, I've heard it's like 1800, no matter what 1325 has to be a substantial portion of the Lieutenant numbers, and it is unreasonable to expect a substantial portion (over 50%) of the total number of Lieutenants to be replaced in a 4 year period.

The numbers just aren't there.

I believe its 1500-1600. Minus 200 now and its anywhere from 1300-1400.

They are putting in an academy class of 200 Cadets in October. They submitted the Budget request for LT promotions for 9/25. This is coming from reliable source at the palace. Like anything else who knows hopefully its a go!

Sadly this department could easily cut so much fat from useless units that are do nothings. But we will stretch patrol thin and work them to beyond exhaustion.

Thats a good sign, but I wouldnt get too excited. The city Council still has to approve on all the Promotions. That is not a good thing.

Theres no approval from any one in regards to city council. I saw you had also said that back on another post. Thats completely false. The only people involved with promos are PC, Personnel and OMAP.

Apparently from what I heard, Personnel knows nothing about promotions. People seemed to have started rumors because personnel files have been requested for transfers.
I honestly dont know what to believe anymore. One person tells me that theres going to be promos, another confirms, another debunks... arrrrgggghhhh!

For 1000 promotion, 40 LTs are slated to be promoted. Like anything on this job, until a finest is not dropped, nothing is confirmed so dont drive yourself crazy on asking sources of this information.
