Just heard from a captain that the Captain Endowment Association, has sued and won a lawsuit against the city for keeping captains in one step for 3 years. Those captains who fell under this category will get back retro pay for 3 years as they should have been on top pay. Some of the sergeants who got promoted in or around April 2017 went straight to 4th step, but kept there for 4 years. The SBA promised those sergeants that they will only need one year to go to top pay. Whoever was in this predicament, should call the SBA and complain.
