The list extended

Now with everything going on. promotions are pushed back Im sure the test wil

be as well. So does anyone think the list can extend for another year

it can be for up to one year...but it likely won't. all this is doing is pushing promotions back for those that are within 150-300 names give or take who would have been getting promoted sooner.

Promotions probably wont resume to the end of the year. This
List probably wont even reach the 1700 mark

The Civil Service Commission has the ability to extend exams past the four year mark due to hiring freezes. Although unlikely if we see no new academy classes in the near future due to the Coronavirus it will become more realistic. It also opens up the ability for lawsuits Since people will argue there number would have been reached under normal circumstances which the city does not want to deal with.

This list will not be extended. The city will administer a new exam for the revenue. By extending this list they arent gaining anything. Also lawsuits wont hold up in court. This is a crisis and the economy is suffering. Civil service exams boosts $$ for the city. At this rate I have to agree with the list not surpassing 1700. Really does suck though.

Nobody knows what might happen until the list officially expires which is one yr and 9 months from now. But the number of sgt vacancies are increasing because of the last two smaller classes. My busy Bronx pct is running on one sgt per squad in each tour for a while now. Sgt covering desk and Lt doing patrol. With no OT in the future 20+ supervisors might say goodbye even more. At least I would have done that if I was in that position. But anyway, vacancies are there. Lets hope for the best.
