adjusted list number 775 received an email. tried looking at the june/july mentoring thread, what was the time frame for email to finest getting assigned to mentoring?
When it was my friends time he got the request for mentoring command in the middle of the week and I cant remember if they told him by Friday of by Monday the needed an answer. By the end of the following week the finest came down with where to report to. So using that as an example these guys finest would come down July 26th

What simple math? We are slightly above average, yes. But not by a huge stride. Once these vacancies are filled, it can be a while. Nothing is guaranteed. I dont see 2k personally. I see 1800 max. Again just personally believing that, a hypothetical.
The historical average is 37 a month which is 444 a year. 444X4=1776 The july bmoc puts us at#703 in 18 months. Thats a 463 per year pace. 463X4=1852. Thats not even including passovers/resignations. Clearly, the trend currently is that the average is only going to go up, not down. So yes, I believe no one under 1900 should be worried and I believe the last list number promoted of this list will start with a 2.

I was going to post something similar but you beat me to it. Using the original list, the class in mentoring puts us at 696. The class that just got emails puts us 780-785. That leaves us with enough time to put at least 1 more class in this year. If that class is the standard minimum 50ish the list will probably be around 840. Using simple math that gets the list to 1675-1700 by expiration.
However ill play devils advocate for everyone beyond 1700. Will they put 1 or 2 more classes in this year? How big are the classes going to be? Do retirements continue to outpace last year by 40%? All questions no one has the answers to
Ill leave you with this fact though... in 2020 everyone with a 925,926,927 tax is eligible for retirement

Guy said list was 2600 and people including myself told him to go screw off. He was right.
He then claimed hiring will pick up many months back and he was right again .....
So gotta give credit where its due man. He was right, and he also claims the list will be finished.
I don't believe that **** either ... but um ... he's 2 for 2 so far. We shall see.
Good luck to everyone nonetheless. There are so many great cops down there in the deep 1,000's and early 2,000's who will make great bosses. This whole notion that the higher you get the better quality boss you get is pure bull****.

I agree as well Iamthelaw has been spot on so far.. i didn't believe the list will finish ..I'm over 2200 so at this point jus have to hope for the best and hope the dude is right jus have to see what the next few months bring

2600 made. No snowball chance in Hell. 1800 is my max. I know im not the law prediction, but if we were to hit over 2k, wed be in the 900s by now. The dept did not utilize common sense with dumping guys into mentoring WHILE BMOC is one or two weeks in. Made absolutely no sense to wait a solid mentoring-bmoc cycle to start again with another 3 week mentoring then bmoc. Total cycle of 7-8 weeks at a time. A waste of time. I see 900-925 by end of year or first class in Jan.

They didnt send those emails just for fun. Worst case everyone has to wait a few weeks so they can line up mentoring to finish around the same time the next bmoc does. If mentoring is 3 weeks then itll start mid August
DCAS clears names ahead of time. They see who has charges, investigations, college credits, etc so they know who is eligible to be promoted. Usually they are a couple hundred names ahead of the list so in case the job is like We need 100 sgts ASAP! they can provide the names. Being 700-800 names ahead, if true, is definitely out of the ordinary. It could mean something, it could mean nothing. Only time will tell.
