Well see once the 1st and 2nd class goes in and they skip ppl..... supposedly a lot of not eligible ppl out there....

Just my wild ass speculation....I say under 175 and under gets promoted before the end of the year....if that 100 in june rumor is true.

Its funny because none of you know what the promotion rate is. They promoted the whole 2015 list in a little over a year and that was 300+ Names. It all depends on what the job wants.

Yes we do.

Give or take:

2006 was about 750 in 4 years

2011 was 650 in 3 years

2015 was 350 in 2 years

That number is gonna be out the window if 100 get promoted in the first 2 months. On top of that there will be an active Captains list in a few months.

LOL, Nah, i am not worrying about that. My list number will get me promoted easily, it has nothing to do with that. You just post these stories that are fact and they are not. You do not know anything about the 2018 promotion process. No ones knows.

I don't think anyone really knows what will happen with the list. I think the average is 190 sergeants getting promoted to Lt a year give or take a few. The first year will be a bit higher due to the large amount of vacancies but it's anyones guess.. Best of luck to all smile

Name of the thread is 'Promotion Rate', all we can do is speculation based on past lists and promotions No one has a crystal ball. So to answer the question BrooklynBacon is correct in his assessment. My opinion is that nothing short of a mass exudus will increase the rate by much, if any. I would be surprised if the list went passed a 1K before it got cut. I think based on history top 800 are safe.
