To help clarify a little more, I have the numbers as of 1/16:
Capt. and above is currently +13 (as stated before, +5 for Capt. alone) and 30 on terminal for Capt. and above, so it seems that will definitely work in your guys' favor soon.
What happened to the rumor that the job was restructuring the Capt rank so as to not count those on terminal towards the allotment? Anyone with any info?
I hope it's a true rumor BUT with a new regime, especially a new personnel chief it might remain a rumor. Maybe it was an idea of the old regime that didn't come to fruition in time. Just an opinion no facts or special intel here.
No for steady RDO's or no for the CAT I car? I thought CAT 1 was all enforcement position Captains (excluding 1PP, PA, etc)
All precinct/TD/PSA XO's get the car. All XO's that I know has steady RDO's but I don't know every XO so there could be an exception out there. Steady RDO's are subject to change based on duties and details.

As of March 2nd, there are -5 captain vacancies (meaning the job is OVER on captains), and an additional 32 (Capt. thru Asst. Chief) on terminal leave. As mentioned before, keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean the job has to fill the spots. It's just the authorized headcount.

And how many of those capts and above on terminal have 2 or 3 years on the books? I heard there is one chief who is on the books until 2021 Lol. They will retire by the time the list is dead. Just focus on the vacancies..
Who came up with this curving nonsense? Please lets act like we all passed three promotional exams. You all know that the test are not graded on a curve. The passing score is 70 and that it. You either got a 70 or didn't. Stop believing and giving credibility to this ignorance plz and ty. Now more importantly, does anyone have any info on the list coming out?
Sgts test WAS CURVED. People went to the protest review session on Feb 28 to see which questions DCAS threw out and and only 5 questions were thrown out. However people with a 58 picked up enough points to now have an 80. Sorry but its a fact.
@Samian32 i've never heard of curving the test other than those prior to when RK changed it to needing a passing score of 70. There are numerous threads on the Sgt's forum about this but there has been no proof submitted. Everyone says o i know i guy that got a 10 on the test(according to him) and ended up with a 90; the test was curved. These are the same people that say O, I'm not studying and they magically end up with a 90 then say "must have been a lucky Saturday" The truth is, NONE of these tests were curved! If the test were being graded on a curve, it would have probably said so in the Notice of Exam and/or a finest message. I really wish that people would accept this fact and stop posting fake rumors and fake news. This site is the only resource that those on a list or hoping to be on a list come to for relevant information. We shouldn't make it into something else other than that because after all, we are or are going to be Supervisors.
Sgt test was curved. Check someone's official score card from dcas. Their test score will be 88.256 or 74.245 before senority and medals. Test was a 100 questions so score should be between 1.00- 100.00

I agree, in order for a test to be curved it must be stated on the NOE or elsewhere. I believe it would be against civil service rules/law if a test is curved without notice. Before Ray Kelly was the PC they used to curve exams, so you didn't have to score a 70 to get on the list, you would just have to score a magic number. Can someone else who was on the job BEFORE Ray Kelly give some insight on how it worked? I've heard a few things from a couple of people, but I'm not really sure.

I also heard the test was curved. The reason is due to the make-up exam being a completely different exam than the original. They had a lawsuit pending and as a settlement, they curved the test. If that was the case, then it would NOT be on the NOE

I agree with Popeye. This scaling is going to mainly affect people that scored a 70 -79 with people that originally failed picking up points and possibly passing them with military, seniority, medals, and JST. I think if you scored an 80 and up you won't be affected as much. Plus only 482 people sat for this exam so either way nothing should be too drastic as compared to the sergeants and lieutenants exam.

Good point karate kid...looks like the Lt's list release is imminent since they are scheduling ppl for CARB. Hopefully our list is not far behind...

I think 70-79 is a bit of a stretch. I would say like 70-74 at most. It's really hard to score a 69 or lower and then jump someone that scored a 75 or higher. Most guys and gals especially older ones aren't dong the JST, have already used vet points. The seniority points are the biggest x factor. But remember, those that passed also get seniority points etc. Those that scored a 70, 71, 72 raw are really the only ones at risk. You can look at the 2015 LT exam and get a sample after a ton of people were added that scored 65 to 69.
No curves or what ever terms you want to use will be applied to this list. The list will be big enough and all will be made. Any further additions then the all who sat will be promoted. Don't wreck yourselves over other lists or what is rumored as to what happened to them. We will all be captains. Relax.
As of April 2, there are -1 captain vacancies (meaning the job is OVER on captains), and an additional 33 (Capt. thru Asst. Chief) on terminal leave. As mentioned before, keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean the job has to fill the spots. It's just the authorized headcount.

actually, as of today we are at 348... which means we are short 2 spots....

The captain rank includes all the way through AC. That's why the bolded number at the bottom, next to "sub-total", is -1.

Any update on vacancies? Lots of retirements...which is good news for us. Also, anyone have info on the people remaining on the old list??

Where do you see that a lot of Captains are retiring?
I dont think anyone was expecting captains on June 29. Be shocked if it was July 27 due to mentoring and list. As I stated before aug 31 would make sense time wise/mentoring wise/vacancy wise. But promos sometimes dont make sense
