Now the question is, when the LT and Capt List are established. Can they hold BMOC for all three ranks on one same month ? The faster these list are established the faster they can start pulling SGTS and LT up the ladder making more room for PO's to get promoted to SGT.
I cant give u the exact details about everyone. I can tell you I got passed over from the 2017 list by error and I start tom... was told by a buddy currently there that they were told 4 more people were starting tom
Not sure if this is true but is there suppose to be another list coming out certified by the dept ? The first list was the one from dcas with the passing scores but i keep hearing about a second list that the dept comes out with ?

Yup...a friend of mine went down to dcas today to see about getting his veteran points added to his score...the dcas worker told him that hes still eligible to get it bc the certified list didnt come out yet..he told the dcas worker that the job already started promoting ppl from it already, but the dcas worker said that thats up to NYPD but thats still not the official list and it should be coming out soon. Also, he told him that everyone will be getting their scores in the mail this week.
Its the other way around...nypd took the scratch list and put it Out but dcas didnt make the official list yet.

Either way my friend is going up 2.5 points...check online to see, vet points for our promotional exams are 2.5, if the person has their DS-214 to prove their military service. It will bring him from the 1900s to the 1500s...and Im in the top 200...so believe whatever you want..I dont care. I was just trying to give guys some more information..later!

I went to DCaS yesterday The lady at the 14tb floor told me they are getting mailed out today. And she couldnt give me a printout yesterday because i needed to wait another day. And by the way the exam was curved. She game me just the exam score without my seniority point and it was not a whole number. i went to inquire because the last 3 digits on my score didnt make sense based on my seniority and medals. And when she told me both scores it made sense. The exam was curved and grades differently. So @Rookiescum is correct. Im in the top 200 and Im just relaying the info that I got.

Thank you!!!!! Maybe now we can put the "DCAS Would never curve another exam." Argument to bed. I love it when people try to argue there opinions as facts. As I said before. They said a 2600 plus list was impossible. They were wrong. They said no way this test would be curved. Wrong again. And now they say if anyone is over 2000 its a wrap. Trust me they will be wrong again.

Yes I went in uniform. Just for the people that dont think the exam was curved. Im going to give you a perfect example. the lady said the Dept. Adds the seniority and medals. I get the max seniority so based on the NOE it should be 6.776 and then when I added my medals it should be 6.932. So my final score should had been xx.932. And it is not, thats why I went to DCAS. when she checked on the computer she said she the Dept added the medals and told me the same score of 6.932 and thats when she told me that the exam score was not a whole number. and Told me the score and when its added with the seniority it comes out to the score from the list. If anybody is confused and want to confirm this. Look at your seniority points. And if you dont have medals or the JST the the 3 digits should had stayed the same. But they are not. So for example if you got 94 on the exam plus your max seniority it should be 100.776 but since the exam was grades differently the last 3 digit changes. She also said that if I wanted to appeal the score I needed to wait for he official score in the mail and then I have 30 days to summit a letter with any evidence. So thats when I told her that I have no grounds for an appeal becuase on the score that she told me and when she broke it down My score was correct. Hope this helps

So that initial pdf file with all the passes arent really the scores which means our list numbers can still change since the dept is still adding points ?
@futureaxuxiliary. The final score on the PDF that we already have thats your score. Everything is already added and is not going to change. The Dept added my medals the reason the last 3 digits are different is because the actual exam score is not a whole number. It also has 3 digits at the end. Thats why the last 3 digits on your final score looks different from what it should had been if the exam would have been graded as usual And not with a curve Or a different grading scale. So your score is your score and is no Changing.
What did you have to compare it to? I don't have my protest score. So what's the platform you used to compare?
Also, fine, let's say they did curve it. What is the exact purpose? Are they doing how did they did it back in the day? Top 1750 are OK and the rest are done? Middle ground score? The chiefs kid? No more every 2 yr exams, kind of like many other NYC exams? Keep a bulk supply in case? Real plans to have an extra number of Sgts to bulk up supervision?
Once I understand the WHY, then it will make perfect sense. Until then, I don't understand the purpose.
Again, not DOUBTING you guys. Valid points have been made and presented. Just the WHY is needed here.
@yougonow. Look at the NOE. Look at what you you get for seniority if you have no medals or the JST the last 3 digits should not change. The exam score should be a whole number in which for this test it is not. and Ill say it again for example Of your raw score for the test was 94 + Max seniority 6.776 your total score should be 100.776. Since the exam was grades diffent and they didnt use a whole number for example you got 94.200 + max seniority 6.776 = 100.976. Do you get it now? If the exam wasnt curved the last 3 digits should had stayed the same .776
Brother the only way I passed math was by luck lol. I need to disect my seniority and my medals to figure it out. When I get my slip in the mail, I will do it. I saw an extra EPD that I didn't know I got, so I will have to check if it was in fact added. Where would I get there records? Thanks guys. The best.

This rings true. I also have the max seniority points. I never put in for any medals and i didn't take the JST/RUN yet my last 3 digits are .785. I'm not jumping on the curve bandwagon just yet but the numbers are definitely off but in a good way. I have .009 more points. I have no idea why. But I'm sure it makes a difference. Maybe not a huge difference but maybe a few names.
I'm also one who believes this list will go past 2000. I don't know how, i don't know why but i believe some of you non believers will be eating crow in 4yrs. They said the same about 2011 exam and ALL got made.

I checked and with my seniority and one EPD I got my score be ending with .295 and instead its .23. So unless they gave partial credit for some questions Im missing some fraction of a point.
