Bacon you are starting to sound more and more like dr.papi i.e., "the end is near," "good luck to all," "very interesting." Could bacon and dr.papi be one in the same?! Einhorn is finkle and finkle is einhorn!
As of December 4th, there are 44 lieutenant vacancies, and an additional 13 on terminal leave.
Rumblings are a February/March list release in tandem with the Captain's list. Nothing concrete, nothing 100%, just a recent rumor but from what I would call an "above average" source...so take it for what it's worth. Curious if anyone has heard the same. Good sign on the vacancies, though.

Im hearing the sgts list is currently in the puzzle palace and will be released this month and the lt list will be released april may with a may class.

Thats hilarious. I think DRPAPI finally took the hint, hes been quiet. Thank god
Clearly the vacancies havent changed in the month. We need an active capt list to help us out. Everyone must come to the reality that the job is getting younger and 25 is the new 20. I mean would you retire if you were a 20 year Lt in some cushy admin spot?! Hell what if you made LSA?!
The average monthly vacancy doesnt tell you anything...maybe 8 or 10 a month on avg. But most people leave right b4 the summer in apr/may or end of the year.
With an active Capt list and retirements an avg number is 220 or so Lts a year. Thats why everyone is saying anything over 1,000 on the proposed list is shaky ground. We have to wait and see.
Someone in the current Sgts BMOC said that they mentioned the job was short around 100 Lt's. I don't know how true that is but I'm sure someone here has the ability to look into it...

How is that the case when Ondeeair said we had 44 vacancies as of 12/31 ? I hope the 100 # is true but it doesn't make much sense.

Never said it was the case or true. Just repeating what was apparently told to the guys in the current BMOC. Maybe someone else knows someone in the current BMOC who heard the same thing. Better yet someone posted a picture of the list of vacancies, maybe theres an updated one. The Lts are due for 1 more raise this year, I personally think more guys will look to leave at the end of the contract in 2019, thus creating a larger than normal amount of vacancies.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it! Please keep us posted if anything else comes up
Shocking that people still choose to run terminal leave with the cash payout option to waive it... Last exam which was unlike any other, had a large gap of promotions from the previous exam so correct me if im wrong, they did back to back classes ( 2 weeks / 2 weeks ) of 50 to fill vacancies. A good assumption would be roughly 30 on normal conditions.
These Lt vacancies are crawlingggg we need an active capt list to help us out and get this thing moving. Maybe there will be more retirements with the sound round of shakeups that the PC was talking about.
As of January 2, there are 51 lieutenant vacancies (which includes allotment for LCD/LSA), and an additional 14 on terminal leave.
As mentioned before, keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean the job has to fill the spots. It's just the authorized headcount.
Got a mid-month update. As of January 16, there are 52 vacancies and 17 on terminal leave.
Seems like a lot of Lts are being moved with the new regime in place. My command alone is losing 3 LTs to units. Maybe that's a sign that our list will come out soon.
this 100 vacancy hoopla has been going around for a couple months now. this looks like a slow dying list already. come on old timers, get out already. lol
Hey guys, sorry for the delay. I've been real busy lately. FYI- I see the monthly numbers, but don't have access to mid-month data.
As of March 2nd, there are 71 lieutenant vacancies (which includes allotment for LCD/LSA), and an additional 9 on terminal leave. As mentioned before, keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean the job has to fill the spots. It's just the authorized headcount.
Vacancies?! Really bro...this is the least of our worries at this time. With DCAS up to their old tricks I think we need to worry about things being held up!

Regardless of vacancies they havn't promoted Lieutenants in 6 months, and that's WITH an already active list of people waiting. Even with a list coming out it doesn't mean anything if theyre not promoting Lieutenants. But that's not such a bad thing because it means you keep your chart days that much longer.

2015 has been exhausted. Last man on the list is promoted look him up in the directory Lt in the 48. Only passpvers are left which means nothing. When youre a passover they key is to get promoted before the last person on your list... chances after that are slim and will most likely not get made. 2015 is pretty much done period Passovers are 17 people
