Nice! However, we were told by the union that the city cannot hold them at 88k for 4 years.... They would goto top pay next year. we will see, I'm glad this forum was able to make it to some news outlet as our union is a disgrace and will not fix the issue.

I really don't see how the city can keep anyone at a specific pay step for more than one year. There's no precedent for that and many times the Labor relations people from 1PP (who represent the job's handeling of pay scales) have said that you cannot be held at a step without it being worked out/bargained. The whole point of a ladder is that it moves. But we'll see, because there's no precedent for any of this.

Same union that said that there is no law that forces the city to pay more upon promotion and told new Sgt's not to tell their fellow sergeants how much money they were making. I would be careful drinking the SBA koolaid and hope for the best.

SBA has been terrible communicating with its members on this issue. I believe the SBA is the best union, but have continually dropped the ball on this.
