1012by1 what are you talking about the choice they had for apprehension question was establish command post. The choice didn't have investigative command post.

The list usually comes out about 6months after the date of the exam.

If you want to go by the answer they gave at the protest session, they said your official score will not be given until 5 - 11 months after the test

I got a 67. I changed 3 answers that I originally had correct after reviewing my answers 10 minutes before handing in the test and turns out I had them correct at first. I wont be able to get over this for a long time. Guess I learned the hard way to never change your first answer. I need a miracle at this point. Also on another note, I got the pick the "Most Answer" wrong. I guess they didn't throw it out. On the protest they have it asked as pick the "Most Correct answer." Don't let them fool you.

Also the DCAS workers told us to let ppl know to come in at 8am instead of 9am because it will take a long time to get everyone a computer in a timely matter. They don't want a massive line of ppl outside waiting.

Be careful with the answers you got wrong and look at every incorrect choice .. they screwed me out of an answer I know I put . I had to request they grade my scantron manually..

Two double answers on the inbasket .

I don't even care that I scored an 80 raw score at this point - I'm more concerned about prayingforapass - any update ?

Yes! I forgot to mention my 2nd protest was a question that I know for a fact I didn't choose and that they check my Scranton. I spoke to one of the head DCAS ppl ( White male in a fuggin Easter Teal button down and Teal Tie...yeah wtf I know lol) but anyways he says that I'd have to call DCAS HQ at 1 Centre ST and request they manually look at my scantron to which they'll make a descion on if I penciled in the correct choice.

Why are you "concerned" about him? He's a grown man who took a test. If he failed he still has a job. I'm sure he's fine guy.

If you didnt sign up for protest, DCAS has you leave. Several people got thrown out when I went. If you lost your letter, you can go to 1 centre St and they'll get you a new copy. They open at 9.

Guys, im putting together a big protest for the family question. I honestly feel like it wont be thrown out, but we have to try anyway. This all has been such blur, I saw an earlier post of someone saying the family question said "according to 208-36 and crime complaint reference guide", is this true ?

I remember the question simply saying "according to 208-36".

Someone please confirm this as it would change how I write up my master protest,

In regards to the family offense question the Crime Reporting Reference Guide states verbatim, " A woman breaks up with her boyfriend. The next week, she discovers her vehicle missing from its parking spot. She also receives a call from her ex-boyfriend who states that he has the car and she will never get it back now that she broke up with. This is GLA." Not Grand Larceny therefore it is not a family offense.

Grand Larceny 4th is a GLA, under subsection 8. Look it up in the Penal Law. The only possible way to fight it would be to dispute the question itself. Its locking you into a procedure, 208-36. On 208-36 GLA (which is recognized seperately from GL 4th throughout the entire PG) is not listed as a family offense. I also do not remember the question asking "according to crime reference guide".

People need to stop being so negative on what other people want to protest. If you dont wanna protest it, fine. If you passed and dont need the point fine, and congratulations. But stop talking **** knocking other people who want to protest a question. Some of us need that point.

Yes, we get it. The cousins with the bat was Assault 1 as per the Penal Law, we get it. But if we come together and find a way to protest the question properly it can possibly be thrown out. Stop using past exams TVB's as an excuse. Just because the last Lt's exam had zero throwouts before the lawsuit doesnt mean that this exam wil have the same result. Its DCAS, and its a different TVB, we dont know.

I believe the question can be fought still. The question is locking us into 208-36. The example used is from the crime complaint reference guide, thats not what we were locked into. The question can be fought guys, lets not give up. This was more of a Penal Law question then a PG question. The question should have stated "As per Penal Law", not "According to 208-36".

If Patrol Guide procedure 222-01 states that the sky is yellow, the sky is effing yellow. Idc what the Penal Law says if they are LOCKING US INTO A PROCEDURE, not the Penal Law.

If the question stated "According to the NYS Penal Law and 208-36, which of the following is a Family Offense" then I would tip my cap and give it to them. GLA in the Patrol Guide is recognized seperately from GL 4th in the PG. Look at a compstat sheet from your command. Whats the last one ? Its GLA.

People are forgetting that A through D being "MOST CORRECT" isnt always what its about. If you find something WRONG WITH A QUESTION, you can fight it. This question wasnt asked properly.

I need to know what question number is this so I can mail it in. I wish I can go back and re protest damn it!

I looked it up you are absolutely right about the Penal Law definition. It's worth a shot to debate it. The other debate should be is a broken arm serious physical injury. Assault 2 is a family offense, Assault 1 is not. Serious physical injury is defined as creating a substantial risk of death, or actually causes death, long term disfigurement, ill health or loss or impairment of organ.

The more time passes, the more this question pisses me off. I want someone to answer this question for me.

Why is the "MOST CORRECT" answer the ex taking the car ? It is because according to the penal law (and that freakin Crime Complaint Reference Guide), Grand Larceny Auto, is subsection number 8 under Grand Larceny 4th, a Family Offense, correct ?

So if choices on A through D is going to be based on the PENAL LAW, why cant we give a penal law based protest ?

A BROKEN ARM is NOT SPI according to the Penal Law. You cant sit here and tell me that an answer is "most correct" because According to the Penal Law its a (GLA) Grand Larceny 4th, and then turn around and say my dispute for the cousins with the bat is wrong when im Using the Penal Law to show you SPI doesnt = a broken bone.

It was an effed up question. They should have asked it differently, or should have added "According to the Penal Law" or "According to the Crime Complaint Reference Guide".

This question should be at BARE MINIMUM a double answer. Dont lock us into a PROCEDURE ONLY, give us choices based on the PENAL LAW, and then mix them both together and tell us the cousin assault with the bat isnt a family offense.

The question is effed up in several ways and there is several ways to either get it thrown out or make it a double answer.

"ILLUSTRATIVE CASES CONCERNING SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY
Serious physical injury was found and an Assault in the Second Degree conviction upheld where the victim suffered bruised ribs, a broken clavicle and four broken bones in her face which required the surgical implantation of support plates, extensive bruising as well as lacerations which required stitches. Furthermore, she remained in intensive care for several four days and the numbness her face, the indentations in her head and her need for pain medication were likely to be permanent conditions."

The proper way to write the question would have been to simply list the charges on A through D, Petit Larceny, Grand Larceny etc. Say whatever you want, "you wanted it easy" blah blah blah. Non sense. I got alot of questions wrong on that exam and they were ON ME, I took my losses like a champ. This one is contradictory.

Everyone needs to get together, and fight this question.

I got a 69 bro. Worst feeling that I ever felt. Hopefully we get some throw outs. But looking at DCAS's record,  don't know how confident I feel about that.

Yeaaaaa baby. Got an 87!! I didn't even bother protesting the ones I got wrong, I figured I would only help those to not only pass, but for people to surpass me on the list. Sucks I know, oh well. Oh btw, there are zero throwouts, all questions were black and white.

The end is near, good luck to all. True elite.

Went to the protest yesterday even tho my date was for the 18t. the second I walked out of the exam on feb 22 I thought I failed but I did not I passed and graded in the low 80's!!! i protested the scaffolding question in hopes they throw it out and it could be the point that someone needs. The question on who can visit the hospital is deff a double answer but I still got it wrong, I took the elite course never attended any classes did everything online I also downloaded the key app and got questions from the key packets from friends, key questions are much better and more competitive. I want to wish every1 good luck on their protests and especially those who are short a point or two!!
