I don't post on here anymore because I no longer have any information to divulge and because I'm out of the test taking game. That being said, this absolutely infuriates me. This job either offers no response to a problem, or it OVER-responds. Freeze promotion for those that took the makeup exam, but not EVERYBODY. I mean COME ON!! All you did was screw someone over that studied their balls off and passed legit on the original date. How the **** is that fair? I passed an abortion of a Lieutenant's and Captain's exam...ON the original date. Lots of hard work and admittedly a lot of luck. I would be incensed if I got screwed out of my promotion because the job finally woke up to a scam that's been going on for years. How does this not lead to even more lawsuits by the people who passed on the original date that are now being unjustly punished? What am I missing here?
stiggity, in range of challenges to ur 2011 Lt exam u didn't pass an exam nearly as hard as the degree of difficulty to this. this is the hardest exam the job has ever put out, as quoted by yano. so while ur feedback is appreciated your scope on this exam is limited due to not experiencing it.
Did you take the 2011 Lieutenant's exam or any of the recent Captain's exam? Difficulty is relative. And don't quote "yano", you sound silly when you do that. No one is saying your exam wasn't difficult. You're grossly missing the point though. This could be the hardest exam in the history of all exams ever given... Some people legitimately passed it!! How is it fair to these individuals who obviously worked their asses off, are extremely intelligent and are amazing test takers, that they actually conquer this test and then get screwed over?

Point 50 Accordingly, I, individually, and on behalf of the proposed class, am requesting an Order from this Court enjoining the NYPD from issuing any promotions based on the results of the Lieutenant's Exam, and the resulting Eligible List, until the investigation into the cheating allegations is complete.
Exactly. These guys threw everyone who passed under the bus for no reason.
We all know makeup exam takers cheated, there's substantial evidence of it; the people who took the original test did not cheat. One guy hearing whispers in the bathroom? Seriously? Freeze promotions to lieutenant in the largest police force in the United States because of...bathroom whispers? Only in New York.
Now there's going to be a multi-million dollar counter-suit over bathroom whispers. Hard work gets you nowhere and the lawyers get rich no matter what. Discouraging to say the least.
Good find... I'm having a hard time tracking down all the filings.... Registered a PACER account but think I have to pay to do searches for court documents... Is that what you do?
160 out of 2400 ppl passed is the the best proof that integrity of the original exam was not compromised. Therefore, what is the basis to toss the original exam?

Seriously, if there was "widespread cheating" then why isn't the passing rate above 7%? This bathroom whisper nonsense is holding up promotions for people who passed the hardest exam ever given by the City, this needs to stop now.
I haven't posted in a long time because i basically attained the rank of Lt the last exam so posting amongst your guys with irrelevant but I must say that the recent shenanigans plaguing this crop of wanna be Lts is side splitting. I just can not stop laughing at the situation befalling the unlucky 164. Between you and me I highly suspect that this exam will be thrown out. the writing is on the wall so my recommendation is that most of you who didnt cheat should at least start studying again.
DCAS has rules and lawsuits the lead up to unfair exams have been examined closely bu judges, FDNY test a few years ago was tossed for being an unfair exam and the whole thing was tossed. To deny "the 9" and label them as being jealous is totally unfair. They are trying to fix a process that has been broken for many years. For months people have cried about doing something on this board about the exam and when people finally do they are labeled haters, cry babies etc. Its a shame it has come down to this. I wish everyone luck and the best outcome for all. Just remember the real reason we're in this debacle
In all honesty the only way to make sure everyone dealt with accordingly is to scrub the test and give a new one. The embedded cheaters will not be found and only those caught on the surface of this scandal will be washed away with an investigation. If you want to get to the core of the cheating the entire test has to be scrubbed. You can not make an omelet without cracking a few eggs and sadly everyone shall be taking this test over again for the greater good. Also keep in mind that only 160 or so people are really being inconvenienced. A very small workable group is being disrupted which basically assures that this test will in the end be scrubbed.
I think there's a lack of oversight in this department when it comes to promotion exams. Like on your lieutenants exam how can more than half the test NOT be based on the patrol guide and no one noticed until after the fact?
For the 2015 exam you put in a Captain who's been continually bounced in charge of this exam. Like who does that?

The NYPD does it I guess. Most famous police department in the world can't even correctly write an exam. They probably literally picked the worst possible people to write this thing.
stiggityone you used to troll the 2011 sergeant exam board continuously stating the list would be cut. You also stated that if the entire list was promoted you wouldn't post on this website ever again. Keep your word and please go away.
