April Class

I'm hearing 30 lieutenants for March 29th.  It will be interesting to see if anyone gets passed over.

Just wondering can they put in a class even though the protest review session is march 31?

The list has been established and released. The results are final. The protest review will give us a little bit of info but it won't change anything.

That would be nice, wish it was a bit more, but something is better than nothing.

Not gonna reveal my source but the 30 number is definitely not set in stone, it's too early to know the exact number. I was just starting the thread to see if anyone else has more info than me.

I'm not surprised brother. Even tho theres apparently 50 something vacancies, they gotta slow play this list imo. As we all know...just not enough of you guys on the list.

i think they'll stretch this thing out for about 18 months

That does sound feasible, but at the same time it would be strange to leave vacancies open just so they can drag the list out. The 2011 list ended in November and they didn't even establish the 2015 list until February. They need to announce a test right now in my opinion though, they should shoot for a November test.

From your lips to God's ears!! I WISH they announced it ASAP! But...still think we're on the 2015 timetable: Aug announcement for April test

Think they'll almost certainly run out of names on this list then, especially if it takes DCAS a year to release it again. Hopefully it's a fair test this time around, we're due for one.

If they wanted to do the right thing they would curve the test so everyone above 65 made the list. They don't care.

Class on the 29th. Numbers keep changing from around 20 down to 12. They want to stretch this list 18 months.

Wow, that makes a lot of sense.  We will run on a Lt deficit for 18 months instead of 3 to 6 months.  Dopes

Yeah, if they want to make it last they could put in 50 now and wait three or four months before they put in a second class. Not surprised though, NYPD logic.

i say they announce another exam this april for november, hoping to expedite this list now and skip over the scammers being investigated so that way they can exhaust the list and start a new one with less scammers.

I've heard some already have. Hard to risk your job when there's evidence against you.

Most will be in the clear, but for some there is already a case that they cheated.

There was no cheating involved with this exam.

Scenario: Taker taker A takes exam on April 18 and test taker B takes exam months later.

if test taker A wants to tell test taker B everything that was on the exam, he can. at this point, it is an issue of competitiveness.

There is no code of silence or contract anyone signed that restricts people from talking or listening after a test is given. Even that piece of sh!t that was allegedly outside of the school asking people what was on the exam is not cheating. A piece of sh!t, yes, but not a cheater.

Taker A can keep quiet to keep his/her advantage. Hence, competition.

Cheating occurs if both test takers when taking it at the same time and pass notes, give signals, text each other, etc. as the test is being administered. OR if the hard copy itself is provided to the test takers in advance of the exam is administered, that's cheating too.

it is what it is. As much as I myself hate to admit it, the holy observers/military/etc. have only the classic case of, Don't Hate The Player, Hate The Game.

^^^^ Yes. But said conduct may still be "prejudicial to the good order and discipline of the Department". There's a reason they have these type of "catch all" administrative charges, and this type of bullsh!t could absolutely be covered under that charge.

Interesting PERSONAL definition of cheating. Unfortunately you missed the part that says acting unfairly in order to gain advantage. Knowing the questions word for word before you take your makeup that were obtained after the protest session falls in that category. You dont need any codes of silence/contracts to act unfairly.....
