WHOS READY TO UNITE?

Do not shoot me in the foot solely because this my first post. I wanted to express myself and was hoping many of you would view this as an important post to read.

I am sure many would agree that this exam was far from perfect. Since the list came out I have seen a lot of ranting and venting, and from what I have been reading there are very few who are trying to come up with a solution. Once the few offer, what they believe is a solution, they are quickly berated and are tuned out by other comments. However, we can not continue to tune out this unjust exam with hopes that the next exam will be in our favor. With zero changes, DCAS is implying this was a perfect exam. At the very least, we all know two questions that should have been changed.

QUESTION: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?? Wave the white flag?? Lay down, give up and begin to study like this whole debacle never took place? Take time away from our lives, our family for more than six months hoping that the next exam is fair? It will only get worst if we do not act NOW. Thousands of sergeants were screwed in the 2011 Lieutenants  exam, as we were with this. This shows a pattern and we should not be easily convinced that it can not happen again. Until someone is made accountable, until the right questions are answers, history will repeat itself. DCAS would not think twice about it since they know they can get away with it.

I have spoken to seven sergeants in my command alone who are not happy and are all willing to take action. I know there is at least 50 of us ready to get involved, stand up and do something about this. I have read a few on this site wanting to take action, but we are easily swayed with negative comments.

As officers, we all know there is power in numbers. However there is no way we can get our numbers up if we hide behind our screen names and avators. If we are going to do something we have to get away from that and find a way everyone can submit  contact information to establish who is serious about moving forward. Once we gather who are serious we can plan an agenda, gather our resources and learn each others strengths and weakness. I know as an individual I do not have all the answers by myself but if we are strong in numbers we will have more than enough information amongst us to make this happen.  As a unit we can balance each other out. As a unit we would also have more resources. My weakness can be someone else strengthen and vice versa.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO??? We can not take action without coordinator. Someone who would gather all the names and contact information of those who are interesting in doing something. However,  before we get there, we must  unite. It will be a challenge for one person to get things done on their own.

In closing: We all worked hard, studied our hearts out to give so easily. The hard part is over. The hard part was studying, waiting for the results. I lost the first 6 months of my first child's life studying to be on the cusp, not to put up a fight. I am sure  many others also made great sacrifices.
