Took elite didn't go to a class mainly just read the elite guide which is essentially a well updated patrol guide with some added notes and pointers .. Bought rising star questions but only had time to do so much after pounding the guide
Key, 85% packet, 15% patrol guide
Plus all questions / inbaskets from key, elite, academy and key phone app.
Results: Would've been 1st class of it wasn't for the cheaters.

I went to the Key class twice a week, but used practice questions from everywhere (Key App, Elite, Rising Star, Academy, even a KSA In-Basket). By the end I was mostly reading Patrol Guide/Police Academy PG on my own making index cards. I went to the crams for Elite and Key, but it was sort of a waste for me because I already knew the "highly tested" procedures better than my own family by that point.

I don't think it matters which class you take. Espically after this last test. It all depends on how much work you put in. Personally I feel you must read Pg more than once, packets more than once and a boat load of questions.

Agreed. PG more than once is def necessary for the LTs test. I thought the pg was useless for the sgts exam tho.
Key alongside patrol guide. Threw in key phone app plus academy questions. Also, purchased rising star. Ignored lesson plan and saved questions until two weeks to exam date. Same thing when I did Sgt. exam.
Though i failed i throw my 2 cents.
For 09 sgt test i kept it simple stupid: i read Key packets and did questions. No patrol guide, no risingstar, no cram course, not even new interim orders nor extra in-basket work. Walked away with low 80s.
For 2015 i dif Elite PG, packets, online and packets questions, risingstar, key app and academy questions. Elite trimester exams scored high. Test results-low 60s. Go figure.
Take it for what it's worth but I only read the key packets over and over again. only went to the guide for discrepancies. Did all questions from elite and key. Top 50 score. U can only absorb so much from reading the guide 2x. Retain much more from reading those packets about 15x each. Just my 2 cents

You cannot use the 2015 Lt test as a barometer. If it was a normal test you would have done well. Good luck in 2017.
