That's interesting, the list is rumored to be slated for a February 17th release date and your protest session is after that? I'm sure it has happened before. If this is all true then like you said, why bother? I wrote up some pretty decent protests modeled after one that the instructors used. If all of us couldn't get one change I'm pretty sure you won't be able to help.

Doesn't hurt to try! 1 and 7 for example should be throw outs at the very least. If they offered him a protest session and he is willing to fight for us, pm the man the questions to protest. That is an interesting point. Lets say he protests a question and it gets tossed after the list is released what happens then ? unless the list wont be released until after his protest session . Anyone heard of a situation like this?

Yeah, they have to offer it to people years later that take these tests. I've never heard of anything coming of it. Just procedure DCAS must follow. Hell, you never know. Maybe get Yano and Misfud to write up the protests on scrap for you. Haha

They have to give everyone the opportunity for a protest session. I know a guy that took the 2009 SGT exam in 2012 because he was out on military leave for years. They gave him a protest session and the entire list was already exhausted and they were already promoting off of the 2011 Sgt exam. So protest sessions for makeups have no bearing on when the original list will be released. However, its still a good shot!

Yano is already confirming the source and prepping for a early Lt exam in 2017. it is in the works people----personnel requested dcas to start process up. FACT. the wheels are in motion and the undeniable fact that this list is TINY. the lowest amount of passers in NYPD LT HISTORY. Again---FACT. There has never been a percentage this low of passers on a Lt exam. The real question now is how this will effect the schools. Rising Star has excellent material for a reasonable price and doesn't go money crazy like the others. Are elite and the key even apparent anymore. I believe Yano and the Irish mob will once again rack in the paper like daddy warbucks---but another test that is off the charts will bury them. and trust me------they can say they want a fair test------it can be worse then last. no one thought this about this one and I told you so before. this was the slaughterhouse of all exams---we never stood a chance and the job could care less.

Honestly, probably not. I don't even think that many people that take the makeup exam even protest. Since the masses have already protested, would one guy even feel like he has a snowy chance in hell that he could make DCAS think any different then that of hundreds of people. But suppose he could change just ONE question that they didn't change in the past, I would suppose that they would have to go back to the people that failed and see if it affected them and put them over the passing score. I don't think that has or will ever happen though.

The person picking the exam writers was a LT from testing research who just retired with 30 something years on the job. He also picked the exam writers for the 2011 exam. He doesn't give two sh**s about who was writing the exams. He was a career puzzle palace guy who was basically stealing from the city drawing his salary for all those years. After the way capt V acted on the 2012 exam there is no way in hell he should have been chosen to oversee a promotional exam. And the 2011 exam Capt was a reject who was almost demoted prior to being chosen to oversee that exam. There is a lot of effort being put in to who writes the Sgt. Exams and that is why the exams have been fair. It's the complete opposite for the 2 previous LT exams . There were 0 f**ks given by the LT choosing the LT exam writers. That is why this is such a joke. I would rather 1300 pass and cut the list at 600 again than have less than 4 percent pass an exam.

They took the 2011 Exam but it counted for the 2009 List. I know someone who took it. And guess what? Because it counted for 2009 and they scored high enough to have been promoted in the first class of the 2009 list, they were promoted retroactively and would have been eligible to take the 2011 LT Exam so they took the 2011 LT make up exam too and scored high enough to have been promoted in the first class and was promoted retroactively and would have been eligible to have taken the 2013 Capt Exam.....You can see where I'm going with this.....

ROOKIE, I actually know 3 people that had that exact scenario. I believe that all three of them took the Capt exam and passed it as well. Now are those guys scammers because they were retroactively promoted and were eligible to take make up for the other ranks? That wasn't their choice.....its just the way it worked out. I actually know a guy that went out on Military leave as a cop and came back like 5 years later off leave as a capt. And NO it isn't me :) Those instances are so rare and few and far between that the job actually doesn't even know what to do with them. They have to just honor the decisions that DCAS makes regarding their promotions and keep it moving. But those rare cases have been know to get some people pretty upset. But all those guys were overseas fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan, so hey, good for them!

No I never said they were scammers. The person I was talking about did about 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan so I have no problem with it. On the other hand, the ones that were in Fort Lee New Jersey looking at surveillance cameras, they are scammers.

I don't have problems with legi military guys, even they can be given 10 extra points after they made it, however, no one is supposed to cheat in the exams.

How does anyone still know nothing? No one on this forum has seen the list. Yes, people know the actual passers, but that's not rocket science. Those were raw passers which everyone has. When someone was told of the list, that's all they gave.... The list of raw passers. Come oooooooooon #10.

I believe when the list gets released, it gets emailed out to all desk officers and borough commands, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty sure it's not a finest.

Also, we need to nominate someone to post it on this site in score order and update it after each promotion.
