The New Overtime Tracker

I know this is a bit off topic, but I figured I would leverage some of the goodwill I've earned here and make a brief advertisement.

About 10 years ago, I made a little application to help myself and other cops track their overtime. Since that time, it has grown substantially and now features complete time management, from tracking leave, managing overtime, and providing analysis tools. Most of you reading this have likely used, and are still using, this application.

Over the past year, I have been working on replacing the old system with a new one. With so many changes to the computers at work, and the constant updates to the rules on how time is managed, it was slowly becoming a major burden to keep the old spreadsheets working. That, combined with the numerous versions that were out there, made support incredibly time consuming.

This week, I finally released a new, web based, overtime tracking system. This system is centrally managed and allows me to update and maintain it for everyone. It also removes all of the old limitations of a spreadsheet based application and allows me to build out new features that were never previously possible. It is also completely mobile friendly and will work well on any phone or tablet.

Considering the amount of effort that has went into this, and what will continue to be required, there will be a cost involved. However, keeping in mind what we make, (and of course how cheap cops are), I have kept the cost exceptionally low at about a buck a month.

If you wish to use the new application, you can sign up at https://www.ottrack.com If you have used any of my previous versions, most of it should feel familiar. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I will be building out some training and tutorial material over the next few weeks.

If you like the application, tell your friends and colleagues. The first 300 people that sign up for one year will get a free OTTrack challenge coin. I don't have a draft of it yet, but feel free to imagine how amazing it will be.

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback over the years. I have only continued to support and improve on this application because so many of you have expressed how useful it has become.

Thanks, got my 1 year membership. A lot more user friendly than the old one, in my opinion.

Thanks.  I hope to make it even more so over the next few months.  I'll continue to build out functionality and the overall user experience.
