Meaning when they cut all the units they just found 4-5 sgts in every Pct to put on patrol and if there's impact add another 5-6

Yes, I agree if all the boroughs convert to the new NCO program, then the department as a whole would not need that much sergeants.

Even with the NCO program you're just gonna see more bosses per squad. It doesn't mean there will be less. They're running 2-3 bosses and 18-24 cops per squad under the NCO program, at least in the 113 they are. You're just moving personnel around, not eliminating them.

Well the SNEU SGT, Schools Sgt, and the multiple Conditions Sgts that some precincts have will all get bounced to patrol. Which means the needs for sergeants in NCO oriented precincts will decline.

Yea but the cops in those details also go back to patrol meaning the need for extra supervision is still there to some extent.

The amount of sergeants needed by the department is not fixed like the other supervisory ranks. For LT and Capt, the job has specific levels of staffing to meet. I believe for sergeants its a ratio based on the number of cops. Reassigning cops to different squads shouldn't change the required amount of sergeants.  That's at least how I understand it.

 This is correct. In fact with an extra 1300 cops we should see about a 125 SGT increase in the overall SGT headcount.

Not a SGT there (or anywhere yet) but I know one there and there's tons of OT there. He personally thinks the NCO program is great, he puts out anywhere from 11-12 cars a night, always has a minimum of 2 SGTS on patrol. Usually 4 bosses in during his tour so they're able to whack it up and days off haven't been a problem.

There is no replacement for the brat....but she is very busy. I was told Nov class is a go w 40s being the number. Makes sense since it finishes list

Historically SGT BMOC orders seem to drop on Wednesdays, but it's fair to say that if there was one scheduled it made sense to put them out today.
