RISING STAR ! The ultimate source to ace your NYPD Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain Exam Visit www.RisingStarPromotion.com to subscribe to our mailing list and get info on the next Sgt, Lt. or Captain Exam!
To the Lt's reviewing the test: remember that you are fighting for us, but also for every future test given at every rank including Captain and future Sergeant exams. God speed and put up the good fight.
List of things to consider:
1) Test is 100 questions, should 2-3 questions in one (like many in the I basket) be admissible?
2) Is the inbasket, something that takes minimum 2.5- 3 hours to complete be admissible?
3) All operations order should be thrown out, period.
4) Give a closed look to every question being contested.
5 ops order questions should be tossed
3-4 on inbasket possibly more
2-3 PG questions
9-11 total throw outs
Being that the majority of us got 10+ wrong on the in-basket means there is something seriously wrong. There is no way we could have all been fooled so bad. The Tvb needs to sit down and really take long look at that the in-basket, consider the amount of info and questions and factor in the time and poorly written combined questions.
This test made Yano's crazy in-basket/ practice exam look like child's play.
Let's hope the TVB will take a fair look into this exam, the majority of us studied hard and didn't deserve to be railroaded like this.

The inbasket was challenging because command log was thrown into the mix with real time events. Ive never took any practice inbaskets with CL in place for sgt or Lt. Can someone with more time on clarify if CL was ever built into inbasket on prior exams
Please put up a fight and don't crumble to those piece
Of garbage DCAS people. They are wrong on so many
Levels on this test. Don't crumble like the PBA union.
That was a little stab I know.
guys it as simple as this....you can complain about how a question with three procedures in it is unfair. You can complain how the inbasket was ridiculously hard with levels upon levels of USELESS junk in it. IT MEANS NOTHING! The tvb is there to find questions that are faulty. Contradictions or just plain wrong or better answers with proof behind them. Just because a question is hard means nothing....the tvb cant do anything about it! find a contradiction, and then the question is up to be thrown out.
FYI: the TVB panel cannot analyze a question that was not protested. So, for example if question 13 was completely incorrect and everyone got it wrong, if it was not protested nothing will happen.

Not a worry in the world. The 2011 exam had 19 throw out/double/triple bunk questions. Most were PG questions, not judgement. This exam had questions that were just plain silly in comparison to that exam. Do I think it ll be the same number of tosses, maybe not. But anyone 65+ has an extremely good shot of making the list. 450-500 I'm saying. Right now I'm drinking a margirita looking for my lost shaker of salt on the beach looking for my flippy floppies. Not a worry in da world. Saw Yano other day parasailing and the Irish mafia bank club had parrots on their shoulders saying they hear there's a Sgt exam coming cawwwww! White shirts are coming for a lot of 65+ people with this exam there's no other way.

Wasn't there only 3 ops orders questions that counted?
