The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) has asked us to notify our members that they are looking for Lieutenants to review exam questions being protested in connection with the last Lieutenants promotional exam.

If you are interested in participating in this review session, please e-mail us your name, Tax#, command, e-mail address and cell phone number, NO LATER THEN 1630 HOURS, MONDAY, JULY 13TH. We will forward the member's information to DCAS and they will contact the member to arrange/coordinate when and where the member will participate in the review. DCAS will do their best to accommodate those Lieutenants in regard to date and times to conduct the review. If you are selected to participate in the review, the review will be done on Department time.

That is true, but not including doubles, triples and throw outs.

The passing number will change when the final key is established. A lot of people that scored in the 60s will jump to passing.

Not sure if that is a FACT. The 2011 Lt Exam had 19 doubles/triples/throwouts to get a list of 661. I heard rumors back then only 100+ passed that exam before questions were challenged, don't know for sure. The 2013 Captain Exam had 63 pass with a few doubles/triples/throwouts, not sure how many, rumors were only 20+ passed that before questions were challenged. And finally the 2007 Sergeants Exam, thousands took it and after doubles/triples/throwouts only 300+ passed. I have no idea how many passed before questions were challenged, don't even remember the rumors.

Also the 2006 Sergeants exam only had 600+ pass, 2008 had 700+ pass, both had doubles/triples/throwouts with thousands taking it. I mean before you make bold statements as factual, consider that we don't know yet how many passed, what the pass rate is yet, how many questions will be challenged. Rumors of only 100 passers will become an actual list of several hundred, you just watch.

My point? As bad as you think your exam was and I am sure it was a horror show, many recent exams of all ranks were also insane, possibly dare I say even worse? And finally when enough questions are challenged and given double/triple/throwouts, the rumors of only 100+ passing will become an actual list of several hundred people that will last for a few years.

Maybe you guys are all off the 2011 Sergeants Exam which had higher pass rates and were expecting a similar fair exam? For now its wait and see, I would be shocked if there was not a list of several hundred lasting a number of years.

i dont know if i have ever seen an in basket where ppl are getting a minimum of 9 or 10 wrong. With that being said, if you can provide an answer for some questions and theres a factual basis then the questions should stand. Number 1 though, where the hell did that answer come from???!!!!

this was a morale killer of epic proportions. and the lowest pass rate is a FACT. not just banter from "my boy". get informed. the magic 128 number isnt a rumor---its a fact. morale is already in the tank, you think they need people questioning taking exams. i think not. its a crisis for people to take the capt exam as it is. no one wants it. i m sticking by my guns with 6-10 throw outs. i ve heard how the top views this exam----their very upset. if u dont think they ll form a list thats adequate i would say ur wrong.

All facts but heres the caveat. The TVB is outside of the upper echelon's purview. There's nothing they can do to influence the TVB without the appearance of corruption and collusion. Let any NYdailynews reporter get a tip that something like throwing out test questions for the sake of morale, will lead to an article. In this day of Cop hating and easy media access, it will be a story. Maybe not front page but it will be a story none the less. This test may lead to actually having a full team from a Chief on down to the rank the test is for, making a test. That may be the one way you can prevent something like this from happening again.

I see maybe 3 at most 4 throwouts.

Except I did attend the protest. But I guess you're one of those guys that must feel they have to have a big list. I protested 8 questions. I'm certain not all of em are gonna be accepted as valid. I say be prepared for another exam. Theres no reason for them to have a list of any determined size. Thats collusion buddy.

You obviously didn't even read my comment cause I said everything you said was fact.

Hey hey u two, let's just focus on the real issue at hand... To each their corner. Captain vucinaj is a disgusting human being that no one in this department has any idea what to do with him which is the cause for him being transferred multiple times in such a short time frame::fact:: on to more important business, being that there is only approx 50 names left in 2011 list, it is most likely getting cut. That is all. Enjoy. Oh, the list of LT who wish to participate in the protest have been sent down to 1PP yesterday.

You had me up until you said that the 2011 list would be cut. Why would they cut the list with 50 names left? They could easily promote 25 a class and be done with it. There's no urgency to get the 2015 list out. The TVB hasn't even convened.

This site is one moron after another saying a list will be cut... Why? When was any list ever cut? And don't say the 2006 LT test because it wasn't cut it expired. I think the city would have a nice lawsuit against them if they randomly cut a list for the hell of it.. The city or the job are never in a rush to do anything so why cut a list for the sake of starting a new one only to have to announce an even newer test....

list will not be cut. however this meeting of the L.T.'s is in direct relation to this debacle. 128 out of 2601. something doesnt smell right in chinatown people. with 6-10 throw outs they can get 400-500. and not just by tosses. that is about the number that can be absolutely disputed and overturned. and no---i dont have half of them. many were subjective to the exam taker and exam giver. that equals one thing= toss out. this list will surprise many b/c people have hedged their bets there will be another. not gonna happen. with morale down in the dumps do you think the bratton legacy wants to be one where no sgts wanna take another exam b/c 128 passed the last one???? no one wants capt now no one wants LT? its a disaster. 6-10

This forum has become a spectacle, no one cares about 2,600 sergeants with their feelings hurt. They will simply give another test. 128 name list is good enough for me and guarantees another test, instead of putting people's career on hold four years at a time. Morale is not down for those for who passed. I can't wait to take the captain's test and some of you should stop reading this garbage and hit the books. This is getting ridiculous.

I'm gonna venture out and say that you have no idea what you're talking about. The list will be whatever it will be. If it's short, there will be another test. Period. The end. If it's bigger than 128 then yippie ki yay. There will always be another test. Period. The end. They don't manipulate throw outs because feelings got hurt.

im gonna go ahead and say that the department really doesn't care what the morale is for those who took the test. That being said, I honestly believe they are gonna make their list of 400-600 bodies. What would kill my morale is no throw outs and having to study for another phucking test in 6 months that may or may not be fair....

if u don't think that a passing rate of 128 out of 2601 is kinda of a big deal. think again. I ve gotten concrete info just how big of a deal it is. and they want a list true they dont care about quality but they will NOT be hiving another exam rite away think again. 400-500 and when it comes out I expect steak dinners from many. yano and the Irish mafia are still in cabo and opening banks respectively for all u idiots who wanna pay for their garbage supposedly in 6 months. lemmings u are if u do that.

Yano usually gives people 6 month heads up before a test, in that case, they should announcing another sergeant exam early next year for the midsummer, but then will be pushed back til fall.
