Heard in 2001 due to 9/11 the passing grade for the Sgt exam was 49 and above, can anyone confirm this? And chances it might happen again with this exam?
Too good to be true I know, but what if?

That's not going to happen. The 2006 Sgt Exam enacted the 70 or better passing rule, which stopped the practice of spanning the list to match the level of vacancies available on the Job. For instance, if 5000 people took the Sgts Exam and the job needed 1500, then they would look at the range of scores from the highest to # 1500 whatever score that would be. That would be your list then.
I personally know a few Sgts who were promoted with scores in the 50's + seniority back then. Believe me, you don't want these guys making decisions. They were the ones that played the tough guy role and said not to ask them any questions. When in actuality they were clueless.
LMAO. Always wonder how these precinct rumors start. The 2003 test got down to final scores in the mid to high 60s. There were people whose raw score was in the high 50s and with military/seniority/fitness/etc...they made the list and got promoted. This led to the 70 raw score rule for the '06 exam.
